MIAMI -- Nationals shortstop CJ Abrams left after the third inning due to a hip flexor strain in the club¡¯s 7-4 win over the Marlins on Friday night at loanDepot park.
Manager Dave Martinez said Abrams experienced discomfort during a stolen base attempt in the top of the third, and then while fielding a ground ball in the bottom half.
¡°It tightened up on him so we¡¯ll re-evaluate him and see how he¡¯s doing [Saturday],¡± Martinez said.
Abrams struck out and walked in his two plate appearances before exiting. He has four homers through his first 11 games this season.
Washington rallied from a four-run deficit against Miami and scored seven unanswered runs to win the series opener.
