The D-backs have agreed to a Minor League deal with veteran outfielder Josh Reddick, a source told MLB.com on Monday. The club hasn't confirmed the deal.

Reddick also posted a photo of the D-backs' logo on Instagram on Monday with the caption, "The Next Chapter."

The deal will pay Reddick $750,000 when he is in the big leagues.

D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said he didn't have any specific information on Reddick.

"But I saw that we signed him and I know that he's getting through the protocols to get over to Salt River and start playing baseball games," Lovullo said.

The 34-year-old spent the past four seasons with the Astros. Reddick batted .245 with four home runs and 23 RBIs in 56 games in 2020 after batting .279 while averaging 15 homers and 62 RBIs from 2017-19.

Lovullo managed Reddick in 2010 with Triple-A Pawtucket in the Red Sox system. "He was a very exciting player, played the game passionately with energy and focus," Lovullo said. "And, you know, we were super excited to get him back in and get him in our system and see what kind of shape he's in."

Walker to injured list
First baseman Christian Walker was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a strained right oblique.

Walker left Sunday's game after the seventh inning and had an MRI performed, which showed the oblique injury.

The 30-year-old was off to a slow start at the plate this year, hitting .179/.250/.282 in 44 plate appearances while starting all 10 of the team's games at first base.

Infielder/outfielder Andrew Young was recalled from the team's alternate training site to take Walker's place. This is Young's second stint with the D-backs this year.
