Ohtani also underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair a left labrum tear on Nov. 5, and the team expects him to be ready for Spring Training 2025. While he should be ready for Opening Day as a hitter, it is "unlikely" that Ohtani will be ready to open the season in the Dodgers' rotation, the club reaffirmed at the Winter Meetings. RHP Tyler Glasnow (right elbow tendinitis)
Expected return: 2025
After not going through with a simulated game on Sept. 13 due to right elbow discomfort as he warmed up in the bullpen, Glasnow got additional scans to determine the severity of the injury. Those scans revealed a ¡°sprained elbow,¡± manager Dave Roberts said on Sept. 14. That ended Glasnow's season earlier than expected. General manager Brandon Gomes said that with rest and rehab in the offseason, Glasnow is expected to be ready to open 2025 in the rotation. (Last updated: Nov. 6)
RHP Dustin May (right flexor tendon surgery; esophagus)
Expected return: 2025
General manager Brandon Gomes said May should be an option to open the season in the rotation in 2025. May missed 2024 after undergoing flexor tendon surgery in July 2023 and a procedure to repair his esophagus and stomach on July 10 after reporting pain in those areas after dinner that day.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on July 14 that he ¡°was shocked¡± by the news, noting May was in Arizona.
¡°Soreness of the throat and the stomach, and goes to the ER and gets surgery,¡± said Roberts. ¡°He gets surgery, and he¡¯s done for the year. Obviously, him coming back, if everything was great, was still a longer shot. But how his season ended is very unfortunate. I¡¯m just glad he¡¯s OK.¡± (Last updated: Nov. 6)

The Dodgers announced on Oct. 12 that Stone had right shoulder surgery on Oct. 9, performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Stone will likely be out all of the 2025 season.
