The Yankees have agreed to a Minor League deal with first baseman Dominic Smith, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. The club has not confirmed the deal.
An eight-year veteran, Smith slashed .233/.313/.378 with six homers and 34 RBIs in 93 total games between the Red Sox and Reds (84 of which came with Boston). He was designated for assignment by the Reds on Sept. 2.
Selected by the Mets with the 11th overall pick in the 2013 Draft, Smith spent his first six seasons in Queens, where he hit .246/.308/.424 with 46 homers.
