DREAM Series returns with appearances from three star alumni
Major League Baseball and USA Baseball will host the eighth annual DREAM Series, an amateur baseball development experience designed to diversify the talent pool of minority pitchers and catchers. The annual event, hosted in connection with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday, January 20th), will be held once again at Tempe Diablo Stadium, the Spring Training home of the Los Angeles Angels, featuring 80 top diverse (predominantly African American) high school pitchers and catchers from over 20 States.
Throughout the weekend, athletes will receive elite-level instruction from former Major and Minor League players, managers, and coaches including Jerry Manuel, Mike Scioscia, Howie Kendrick, Marquis Grissom and more, in addition to taking part in interactive discussions focused on preparing athletes for the collegiate and professional levels of the game. Notable DREAM Series participants (and their committed schools) will include RJ Cope (Vanderbilt), Kayson Cunningham (Texas), Dylan Minnatee (LSU), Anthony Murphy (LSU), Kaleb Rodgers (Texas), Savion Sims (Oklahoma), Rookie Shepard (Miami), Miles Young (Georgia), among others.
