Crew signs Elvin Rodriguez, adds 4 top prospects to NRI list
The Brewers continued to fill out their camp roster on Friday, signing right-handed pitcher Elvin Rodriguez to a one-year deal and adding four of their Top 30 prospects to the club¡¯s list of non-roster invitees.
The prospects are shortstop Cooper Pratt (the Brewers' No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline and the No. 57 prospect in baseball), right-handed pitcher Jacob Misiorowski (No. 3, No. 80), outfielder Luis Lara (Brewers' No. 18) and right-hander Craig Yoho (No. 21). They are among the 19 non-roster invitees who will be in big league camp this spring. Some of the notable veterans in that group include infielder Jake Bauers and catcher Jorge Alfaro.
Rodr¨ªguez, a 26-year-old who logged 33 innings as a starter and a reliever during brief Major League stints with the Tigers (2022) and Rays ('23), spent most of the past two seasons in Japan with the Yakult Swallows of Nippon Professional Baseball. He made 32 relief appearances in NPB in '24 and recorded a 1.80 ERA with 44 strikeouts and 12 walks in 45 innings. His contract with Milwaukee contains a club option for '26.
To make room on a full 40-man roster, the Brewers designated right-handed pitcher JB Bukauskas for assignment.
