Reigning Cy winner tells Marlins' top prospect he's coming to The Show

@bmags94Eury Pérez, the Marlins' top prospect and baseball's 10th overall prospect according to MLB Pipeline, received news of his promotion to the Majors on Wednesday.
When P¨Śrez was called into Double-A manager Kevin Randel's office, the initial news was that P¨Śrez would be promoted to Triple-A. Before being sent off to his new team, however, P¨Śrez needed to go over a few things on the laptop he was presented with.
After a few moments of P¨Śrez's highlights, an incoming call came on the laptop and showed a familiar face: Sandy Alcantara, the Marlins' ace and reigning NL Cy Young Award winner.
"I have bad news for you. I am going to have to see your face every day now, " Alcantara said in Spanish. "My brother, do you think you are ready to pitch in the Majors?"
That's not a bad way to find out about getting your call to The Show. In advance of P¨Śrez's debut on Friday, Alcantara told a group of reporters in Miami what it felt like to break that news.
"[Telling] him that he's going to pitch in the big leagues, for me, that was an honor," Alcantara said.
When P¨Śrez debuts for the Marlins, he will become the youngest pitcher (20 years, 27 days old) in franchise history to throw an MLB pitch, surpassing Jos¨Ś Fern¨˘ndez (20 years, 250 days).
In six starts at Double-A this year, P¨Śrez had a 2.32 ERA and struck out 42 batters in 31 innings.
