Explore Augusta's SRP Park
Welcome to SRP Park, where Braves prospects get their first taste of full-season pro ball. The home team nods to The Masters, but baseball is king.

In this part of the country best known for a smaller white ball, they do in fact play a little baseball. The Augusta GreenJackets, a Single-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, are smart enough to tip their ball caps to their home¡¯s best-known event, but make no mistake: SRP Park is a ballpark.

That may seem like faint praise, but it¡¯s a high compliment for this welcoming little park in North Augusta, S.C. There¡¯s not much flashy about SRP, not much gimmicky. What there are, are about 4,800 seats of good views all summer, a lovely place to sit and watch a ballgame.
In a park just down the road from Augusta National, they do have plenty of golf-themed sights, sounds and tastes. You can buy golf balls, towels, ball markers and socks at the souvenir store. You can get a bite to eat at establishments like the Front Nine, the Back Nine and McGavin¡¯s.
But, again, you can and should watch a ballgame. They¡¯ve been playing pro ball continuously in the Augusta area since 1988, when the Macon Pirates moved east down I-16. The GreenJackets moved into SRP Park in 2018 after spending more than 20 years at Lake Olmstead Stadium in Augusta. They¡¯ve been a Braves affiliate since 2021.
Though they call the team Augusta, technically it¡¯s just across the river from Georgia¡¯s second-most-famous town. The ballpark is in North Augusta, S.C., but if you didn¡¯t have to cross a bridge to get there, you¡¯d have no idea you¡¯d changed cities or states. That is, unless you get an aerial view. Because the stadium itself is shaped like an outline of the state of South Carolina.
Concessions
Aside from golf, Augusta National is maybe most famous for its reasonably priced concessions. And if the Masters has a signature item, it¡¯s the pimento cheese sandwich. So it¡¯s no surprise that you can get pimento on plenty of items at SRP park. The southern delicacy, made from cheese, mayonnaise and pimentos, can be found on hot dogs, burgers and even pizza.
Another iconic southern specialty, boiled peanuts, can also be had, as well as buffalo chicken french fries and the usual array of ballpark favorites.
Mascot
Why, that¡¯d be Auggie, and he¡¯s one of a kind. He¡¯s, well, a greenjacket, which is to say he looks like a wasp or yellowjacket, but¡ green.
Auggie wears matching green-and-yellow checked pants and has been around since 2006. He received a bit of a makeover for the 2018 season, but he¡¯s still unmistakably Auggie.

Local attractions
You may be aware that they play a little golf tournament in the area. After all, the team takes its name from the traditional green jacket bestowed upon the winner of The Masters at Augusta National Golf Club. Unfortunately, you can¡¯t visit the hallowed grounds of the tournament.
If you¡¯d like a nice outside walk, though, there¡¯s the Riverwalk, featuring a Saturday market, a concert amphitheater and plenty of lovely views. You can pay tribute to one of America¡¯s greatest musicians in his hometown by visiting the James Brown statue and checking out the James Brown exhibit at the Augusta Museum of History. And you can even visit the boyhood home of President Woodrow Wilson.
Food and drink
For upscale dining, get yourself to Frog Hollow Tavern just across the river in Augusta. It¡¯s something of an institution. Not much farther down the road is the Boll Weevil Caf¨¦ and Sweetery, where the dessert menu is almost as long as the main menu. And if you want a drink with a rooftop view, right across the street from the ballpark, there¡¯s Jackson¡¯s Bluff.
Moving on
It¡¯s a very short hop east on I-20 from North Augusta to Columbia, S.C., home of the Fireflies. It¡¯s a little farther down to the coast for the Charleston RiverDogs, about 150 miles east and southeast on I-20 and I-26. It¡¯s a little more than two hours up to the Greenville Drive, without much help from the interstates (though you may prefer that!).
The road to Atlanta
Few teams have as closely concentrated a Minor League system as the Braves, with all five teams (including the big club) just about on an east-west line. Two affiliates are in Georgia, the GreenJackets are almost in Georgia and the Double-A Mississippi Braves aren¡¯t too far away, outside Jackson.
