Game 2 of doubleheader against Nats pushed to Saturday
PHILADELPHIA -- The PhilliesĄ¯ postseason magic number is five with six games to play.
They hoped to reduce that number even further with a victory over Washington in Game 2 of the doubleheader on Friday at Nationals Park, but the nightcap was postponed because of rain. The teams will try to play a split doubleheader on Saturday. Game 1 is scheduled to begin at 1:05 p.m. Game 2 is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. The Phillies announced that right-hander Kyle Gibson will pitch Game 1. Right-hander Noah Syndergaard will pitch Game 2.
Tickets and parking passes from Friday nightĄ¯s game will be honored on Saturday night. Complete details on ticket exchanges for those unable to attend the rescheduled game are available at nationals.com/rain.
Syndergaard had been scheduled to pitch Game 2 on Friday night after the Phillies won the opener, 5-1.
