Home Run Derby X toured the world, making stops in London (twice!), Seoul, and Mexico City. Now it's coming back home, making stops in Hartford on Aug. 11 and Fredericksburg Aug. 26. This summer, there's a bit of a twist, too: Now the Major League and softball legends will be teaming up with elite amateur ballplayers who are competing for a cash prize. While we won't know who will be joining the teams until after tryouts -- each Legend will draft two players to join their team -- we can share the names of the superstars who will be taking the field to bash dingers.

Hartford Yard Goats (Aug. 11)

Nick Swisher

The most outgoing person in sports, Swisher played for five big league teams but is perhaps best known for his time in Yankees pinstripes. Swisher won the 2009 World Series, was elected to the 2010 All-Star Game and, oh yeah, has also appeared in the popular shows, "How I Met Your Mother," and "Sweet Magnolias."?

Jonny Gomes

Along with bashing 162 career home runs, Gomes was known as a consummate winner and team player. A two-time World Series champion with the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals, the bearded outfielder also won the first Home Run Derby X title last season. Gomes doesn't just crush homers, he also lays his body out on the line. He led the 2022 HRDX tour with 21 catches.

Jake Arrieta

Arrieta was one of the most dominant pitchers during his 12-year Major League career, winning 115 games with a 3.98 career ERA. He won the 2015 NY Cy Young Award and helped the Cubs end an 108-year World Series drought the next year, winning two games in the series against Cleveland. He was also one of the games best hitting pitchers, bashing six home runs in his big league career. He'll look to prove that pitchers can hit the long ball.

Dexter Fowler

Arrieta's teammate on the World Series-winning Cubs in 2016, Fowler hit 127 home runs and was named to an All-Star Game during a 14-year career. The former outfielder also made his HRDX debut in London for Home Run Derby X: The Cage recently. The always popular player even showed off his pipes at the event, leading the crowd at Trafalgar Square in a rendition of "Go, Cubs, Go."

Megan Lucas

A superstar at James Madison University, Lucas was a four-time All-American, four-time First Team All Colonial Athletic Association, four-time Pitcher of the Year, the Rookie of the Year in her freshman season and was named Player of the Year in 2017. Yeah, you could say her trophy cabinet is overflowing. After finishing her college career with a 1.03 ERA and 120 wins on the mound and a .351 average and 45 homers at the plate, Lucas joined the USSSA Pride in the National Fastpitch League.

In addition, former Red Sox outfielder Trot Nixon and Reds reliever Rob Dibble will be on hand to take in the Finals.

While Gomes and Arrieta will be reprising their roles in Fredericksburg on Aug. 26, they will be joined by a new cast of ballplayers. Here is the rest of the squad that will be playing for the FredNats:

Ian Desmond

A two-time All-Star and three-time Silver Slugger Award-winner, Desmond hit 181 big league home runs while playing first, second, short, and all three outfield positions during his big league career. After retiring following the 2019 season, Desmond founded the Newtown Connection charity which focuses "on the diverse and at-risk youth population that lives in Newtown, Fla.?

Jocelyn Alo

When talking home runs, you can begin and end with Alo. The Oklahoma Sooners superstar won two Women's College World Series titles with the Sooners and finished as the all-time NCAA leader in home runs with 122. She helped the Red Sox win HRDX 2022 and currently plays for the Oklahoma City Spark of Women's Professional Fastpitch.

Ashton Lansdell

A HRDX veteran -- Lansdell lined up for the Dodgers in 2022 and joined the Cardinals for HRDX: The Cage in London -- Lansdell has seen and done it all on the ballfield. A trailblazing infielder, Lansdell was the youngest player to make the USA Baseball roster at just 17 years old in 2018, and made history as the first female to play baseball at the NJCAA level in 2021. She has now switched her focus to softball and has concluded her first season with FIU.

Gerardo Parra

Cue up the "Baby Shark!" The Nationals fan favorite outfielder, who helped the team win the 2019 World Series, returns to take part in HRDX. A two-time Gold Glove Award-winner, Parra hit 90 home runs and stole 97 bases during a 12-year big league career.?

In addition, former Nationals catcher Brian Schneider will be in attendance for the finals.
