MIAMI -- As one offseason league comes to a close, several prominent Marlins prospects continue to play ball for various Winter League clubs.
The curtain came down on the Arizona Fall League on Saturday with Peoria rallying to a 3-2 walk-off win in 10 innings over the Salt River Rafters. Miami's prospects -- most notably, outfielder Monte Harrison and right-hander Jordan Yamamoto -- played for Salt River.
In defeat, Harrison and Yamamoto impressed. The two wore the Marlins' new Slate Gray uniforms, which were unveiled on Friday, and each made big contributions in the finale.
Harrison, ranked by MLB Pipeline as Miami's No. 2 prospect, went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in the title game. Harrison finished the Fall League batting .290 with a .383 on-base percentage, two doubles, a triple and 16 RBIs. An offseason objective was to work on refining his swing, and he's done so by reducing the high front-leg kick he used during the Double-A season.

Yamamoto, the organization's No. 17-ranked prospect, got the start in the championship game, striking out six over four shutout innings. In six games for Salt River, the right-hander had a 2.08 ERA with 27 strikeouts and 13 walks in 26 innings.
While those two prospects are shutting things down for the offseason, there are still a number of young Marlins players competing or still training in the Winter Leagues in the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Puerto Rico.

1. Isan Diaz, 2B: The No. 9 prospect in the system, Diaz is playing for Gigantes de Carolina in Puerto Rico. The 22-year-old, who began playing on Nov. 15, is off to a hot start, batting .333 (6-for-18) in his first five games. Diaz likely will open the season at Triple-A New Orleans, but he is a candidate to reach the big leagues in 2019. The left-handed hitter combined to hit .232/.340/.399 with 13 home runs and 56 RBIs at Double-A and Triple-A in '18.

2. Magneuris Sierra, OF: The 22-year-old was rushed to the big leagues .190 in 54 games in 2018, although the speedster opened the season at Triple-A New Orleans. He's currently playing for Toros del Este in the Dominican Republic. In 15 games, he's hitting .250 with two stolen bases. The Marlins are looking for Sierra to work on his bunting and taking an approach that allows him to best utilize his speed.
3. Jose Quijada, LHP: Expected to be added to the 40-man roster, Quijada will get a chance in Spring Training to make the Marlins as a lefty reliever. The 23-year-old is playing for Caribes de Anzoategui in Venezuela. Quijada split time at Double-A and Triple-A this year and combined for a 3.00 ERA in 44 games. In 63 innings, he had 81 strikeouts and walked 29.

4. Gabriel Guerrero, OF
From strong baseball bloodlines, Guerrero is the nephew of Hall of Famer, Vladimir Guerrero, and cousin of MLB Pipeline's top prospect, Vlad Guerrero Jr., in the Blue Jays' system. Gabriel recently signed a Minor League contract with the Marlins and will be in big league camp in Spring Training. The outfielder has big league experience, and he is playing in the Dominican Republic for Estrellas Orientales.
5. Victor Victor Mesa, OF
Ranked by MLB Pipeline as Miami's No. 1 prospect, Mesa has been working out at the Marlins' academy in the Dominican Republic. However, as of now, there are no plans for him to play organized winter ball. Mesa, 22, and his younger brother, Victor Mesa Jr., are from Cuba, and they signed as free agents with the Marlins in October. Victor Victor is rated the top international prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
