NEW YORK -- Tuesday¡¯s game between the Mets and Marlins at Citi Field has been moved from 7:10 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. ET due to a forecast of inclement weather.
Although there is no significant rain in the forecast for Tuesday, temperatures are expected to be frigid, with wind chill values between 20 and 25 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Winds are expected to gust as high as 40 mph throughout the day, though the daytime hours should be sunny with temperatures in the mid-40s.
The Mets have endured chilly, wet conditions throughout their opening homestand, but so far, that has not resulted in any delays or postponements. Players have taken to wearing long-sleeved shirts and face coverings on the field to stay warm, and the Mets haven¡¯t taken outdoor batting practice since before their home opener on Friday.
¡°It¡¯s cold on the other side of the dugout, too,¡± shortstop Francisco Lindor said after what he called an ¡°uncomfortable¡± Saturday victory over the Blue Jays. ¡°That¡¯s just part of the grind. Sometimes, you¡¯re going to have good days. Sometimes, you¡¯re going to have bad days.¡±
Gates for Tuesday¡¯s game will open at 3:10 p.m., and parking lots will open at 2:10 p.m.
Due to the inconvenience of the late time change, anyone holding a ticket for Tuesday¡¯s game against the Marlins will receive a voucher for a ticket to any remaining Monday-Thursday home game in April or May, subject to availability. The digital voucher will be loaded into each attending patron's My Mets Tickets account (accessed by clicking the Vouchers tab) and will be accessible Wednesday morning.
