Miami Live! coming soon to loanDepot park
MIAMI -- loanDepot park is poised to become Miami¡¯s latest year-round destination.
The Marlins on Tuesday morning announced Miami Live! in partnership with The Cordish Companies to bring a new entertainment and dining hotspot to the Magic City. The official opening is anticipated for early 2026.
¡°It is with great excitement and pride that we announce the transformation of the West Plaza with Miami Live! -- a communal space reinvigorated to bring joy and excitement to our fans and neighbors with opportunities for engagement,¡± Marlins chairman and principal owner Bruce Sherman said. ¡°This project represents our commitment to our community, as we develop our ballpark¡¯s campus to feature dining, entertainment and gathering options for everyone to enjoy.
¡°We are thrilled to have a well-renowned partner in The Cordish Companies, who are industry leaders with a great reputation in South Florida as well as across the sports and entertainment landscape nationally. Miami Live! will be a vibrant hub to gather and create lasting memories for all who visit.¡±
For more than two decades, the family-owned Cordish Companies has been at the forefront of urban revitalization and community impact in the hospitality and entertainment experience sectors. The loanDepot park development, much like similar sports-anchored and mixed-use projects in Arlington and St. Louis, will include indoor-outdoor dining and entertainment spaces with year-round activities focused on community programming for all ages. In doing so, new employment opportunities also will be generated in skilled trades, marketing, sales and operations.
The privately financed project reaffirms the Marlins' commitment to South Florida by providing a premier year-round entertainment destination to the surrounding neighborhood, something that had been discussed since the ballpark¡¯s opening in 2012 but hadn¡¯t come to fruition until now. Miami Live! will prioritize sustainability and inclusivity in its modern design, with energy-efficient lighting, accessible pathways and community art installations.
¡°Miami Live! in the heart of Little Havana is a long-awaited dining and entertainment amenity to the ballpark campus,¡± said Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins, who represents District 5. ¡°I¡¯m so proud that this cherished neighborhood in my district will be the site for residents and guests to enjoy an open space with family and friends. I congratulate the Miami Marlins for this private investment that will bring jobs and an elevated quality of life to an emerging corridor near the Miami River.¡±
Added Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Anthony Rodriguez: ¡°With the addition of Miami Live! to loanDepot park, Miami-Dade County residents gain another great local destination for entertainment. Visitors to our vibrant community will also be able to enjoy this new spot whether they choose to attend a game, a concert or are simply exploring all Miami-Dade has to offer.¡±
Recently, loanDepot park has become a go-to venue for signature sporting events. It has hosted the World Baseball Classic, Caribbean Series and Choque de Gigantes. Next January, the Marlins¡¯ ballpark will play home to the 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic.
On Legacy Saturdays during the baseball season, loanDepot park¡¯s West Plaza transforms for postgame concerts that the entire community can enjoy. Miami Live! will feature functional open spaces to create an environment where residents and visitors alike can enjoy the year-round programming.
¡°Miami-Dade County is proud to be an international epicenter for sports and entertainment," Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said. "... This privately financed project embodies Miami-Dade's innovative spirit, and at zero cost to taxpayers, will provide an even greater experience for residents and visitors alike."
¡°Miami Live! is a significant milestone for our organization, and we thank Miami-Dade County and our partner The Cordish Companies as we make this vision a reality,¡± said Marlins president of business operations Caroline O¡¯Connor. ¡°Our neighbors and fans are our priority, and this investment is an important example of our commitment to providing an elevated experience for all at loanDepot park. We look forward to the revitalized space becoming a beloved destination in our community.¡±
