You've got to get them started early.

When it comes to baseball, whether it's playing the game or getting into the trading card hobby, the earlier a kid starts, the better, especially if you're the child of a Major League ballplayer.

Beckham Aaron Trout is certainly no exception. And he was introduced to baseball cards in an unforgettable way when his dad, Mike Trout -- who happens to be a pretty good baseball player -- pulled his own rookie card in the first pack they opened together from a 2009 Bowman box.

Trout posted a video on Instagram of the two opening the box and the first pack. Prior to doing so, he asked Beckham what card he wanted to pull.

"We gotta get you, Daddy," Beckham said. "I believe it, Daddy. We'll see."

Trout ripped open the first pack, shuffled through a few cards and then found a rookie card of himself. It was even autographed.

The joy of pulling a great baseball card, particularly an autographed one featuring a three-time MVP like Trout, is incomparable in its own right. But to pull your own card for your son? That's on an entirely different level.

"No way, dude, no way!" Trout exclaimed. "Let's go! We just pulled it. We just pulled a monster! Let's go, baby!"

The expression on Beckham's face was priceless, as was what he said next, which demonstrated that he's already a wise collector.

"Daddy, let's put it in one of these," Beckham said, referring to some protective sleeves for the cards that he was holding.

Good move, Beckham. While that card is certainly worth a great deal monetarily, it's surely worth much more than that to you.
