Mookie Betts' surprise surge, Juan Soto's quest to start alongside Aaron Judge and close races at designated hitter in the American League and in the National League outfield highlight the second Phase 2 ballot update for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard.

Only hours remain to vote for this year's All-Star Game starters. The Phase 2 finalist elections will determine who joins Judge and Bryce Harper -- the leading Phase 1 vote-getters -- in the starting lineups for the Midsummer Classic on July 16 at Globe Life Field in Arlington. The rest of the starters will be announced at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Fans can cast their 2024 MLB All-Star Ballot presented by BuildSubmarines.com until noon ET today.

The All-Star Ballot is available exclusively online and via mobile devices at MLB.com/vote, all 30 club websites, the MLB App and the MLB Ballpark App. Fans may vote once per day during Phase 2, with the daily voting limit resetting at midnight ET.

Here are the latest Phase 2 All-Star standings.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

FIRST BASE

1. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Blue Jays: 60%
2. Ryan Mountcastle, Orioles: 40%

Guerrero (.297 AVG, 13 HR, .846 OPS) is holding steady over Mountcastle (.273 AVG, 11 HR, .777 OPS) in his quest for a fourth straight All-Star appearance. The Blue Jays slugger is the reigning Home Run Derby champion, but he hasn't had a hit in the All-Star Game itself since his first one in 2021 -- but that was a monster home run off Corbin Burnes.

SECOND BASE

1. Jose Altuve, Astros: 57%
2. Marcus Semien, Rangers: 43%

Altuve (.304 AVG, 13 HR, .822 OPS) is maintaining his lead over Semien (.235 AVG, 11 HR, .683 OPS) and is one step closer to being voted an All-Star starter for the sixth time and making his ninth career All-Star team. Two-time All-Star Semien, the only 2024 finalist from the defending World Series champions, has some ground to make up if the Rangers are going to be represented in the All-Star Game starting lineup.

SHORTSTOP

1. Gunnar Henderson, Orioles: 65%
2. Bobby Witt Jr., Royals: 35%

In the most star-studded race on the Ballot, Henderson (.288 AVG, 26 HR, 13 SB, .988 OPS) is still holding a big lead over Witt (.312 AVG, 12 HR, 22 SB, .897 OPS) in their battle of shortstop phenoms. The Orioles' dynamic duo of young superstars -- Henderson and Adley Rutschman -- are both in line for their first career All-Star starts this year.

THIRD BASE

1. Jos¨¦ Ram¨ªrez, Guardians: 60%
2. Jordan Westburg, Orioles: 40%

Ram¨ªrez (23 HR, 76 RBIs, .889 OPS) has played in five of the past six All-Star Games, and it's looking like he's about to make it six of seven. The Guardians star is holding off the up-and-coming Westburg, who's batting .281 with 13 homers and an .837 OPS in his first full big league season.

OUTFIELD

1. Juan Soto, Yankees: 31%
2. Steven Kwan, Guardians: 28%
3. Anthony Santander, Orioles: 25%
4. Kyle Tucker, Astros: 16%

With four outfield candidates vying for two starting spots, Judge's fellow Bronx Bomber Soto remains in the lead. Soto (.303 AVG, 20 HR, 1.005 OPS) has actually opened up a slightly larger edge over Kwan than he had on Monday, while Kwan (.368 AVG, .961 OPS) has opened up a slightly larger edge over Santander and Tucker for the third and final starting spot.

CATCHER

1. Adley Rutschman, Orioles: 70%
2. Salvador Perez, Royals: 30%

Rutschman (.294 AVG, 15 HR, .821 OPS) still has the biggest lead of any All-Star finalist race, and with he and Henderson having their races firmly in control, the O's look like they'll be well-represented in the All-Star Game lineup. The 26-year-old backstop would be an All-Star for a second straight season but a first-time starter, while Perez is an eight-time All-Star and six-time starter.

DESIGNATED HITTER

1. Yordan Alvarez, Astros: 53%
2. Ryan O'Hearn, Orioles: 47%

While Shohei Ohtani is in control of the DH race in the NL, Alvarez will have to hold off the O'Hearn in the AL if he's going to earn his first All-Star start. The lefty slugger (.294 AVG, 17 HR, .900 OPS) has a slightly bigger lead than he did a day ago and is one of the two Astros currently in line to start the 2024 All-Star Game along with Altuve.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

SECOND BASE

1. Ketel Marte, D-backs: 55%
2. Luis Arraez, Padres: 45%

Marte has the same lead over Arraez that he did after the first Phase 2 ballot update. Arraez might have the most hits in the Majors (111), but Marte has hit for much more power (17 homers and an .874 OPS, compared to Arraez's two homers and .738 OPS). It would be the D-backs second baseman's first All-Star Game since 2019.

SHORTSTOP

1. Trea Turner, Phillies: 50%
2. Mookie Betts, Dodgers: 50%

Betts has surged into a virtual tie with Turner for NL starting shortstop honors. That's a surprise, considering that Turner held a clear lead at the first update (53% to 47%) and that Betts is out with a fractured left hand and will be unable to play in the All-Star Game even if he's voted in as the starter. But the Dodgers superstar was definitely off to an All-Star-worthy start (.304 AVG, 10 HR, .893 OPS) -- although so is Turner for the Phillies (.332 AVG, .833 OPS).

THIRD BASE

1. Alec Bohm, Phillies: 69%
2. Manny Machado, Padres: 31%

Turner's teammate Bohm is having much less trouble holding off Machado for the All-Star start at third base. The 27-year-old is having a career year for a powerhouse Phillies team (.300 AVG, 10 HR, NL-leading 68 RBIs, MLB-leading 28 doubles). The Phillies would be the only team to have three players in line to start the 2024 All-Star Game if Turner can hold off Betts.

OUTFIELD

1. Christian Yelich, Brewers: 22%
2. Jurickson Profar, Padres: 20%
3. Fernando Tatis Jr., Padres: 16%
4. Teoscar Hernández, Dodgers, 15%
5. Brandon Marsh, Phillies: 14%
6. Nick Castellanos, Phillies, 13%

The NL outfield race has been the tightest race of Phase 2 from top to bottom, with all six finalists still in the running for the three starting spots. Yelich still has the lead, and deservedly so -- he's having his best season since 2019 (.323 AVG, 8 HR, .892 OPS) as he seeks to make his first All-Star Game since then. But anything can still happen here, especially when you get down to the No. 3 spot, where Tatis is just one percentage point ahead of Hern¨¢ndez, two ahead of Marsh and three ahead of Castellanos.

CATCHER

1. William Contreras, Brewers: 63%
2. J.T. Realmuto, Phillies: 37%

Contreras has slightly expanded his lead over Realmuto, putting him in position to win his first fan election as an All-Star Game starter (he started the 2021 All-Star Game as an injury replacement for Harper). The Brewers' continued run atop the NL Central could yield multiple All-Star Game starters in Contreras and Yelich.

DESIGNATED HITTER

1. Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers: 65%
2. Kyle Schwarber, Phillies: 35%

Ohtani has opened up an even bigger lead on Schwarber over the last 24 hours and looks likely to earn his fourth consecutive All-Star Game start -- but first in the National League. The reigning MVP is leading the NL in home runs (26), batting average (.316), slugging percentage (.635) and OPS (1.034).
