MESA, Ariz. -- Jacob Wilson carries the most buzz of any A¡¯s Spring Breakout representative, and considering he ranks as the club¡¯s No. 1 prospect and No. 68 prospect in baseball per MLB Pipeline, that's understandable. But he¡¯s not the only youngster on the squad who projects a bright future.

As part of MLB¡¯s inaugural Spring Breakout event, a team of Oakland's top prospects, headlined by Wilson, will square off against the Giants' top prospects on Friday at Hohokam Stadium following a traditional Cactus League game against San Francisco, which begins at 1:05 p.m. PT.

¡°It¡¯s a great opportunity for these young guys to go out and not only showcase themselves but showcase [our] organization,¡± A¡¯s manager Mark Kotsay said of Spring Breakout. ¡°I¡¯m excited about it. It¡¯ll be a fun day.¡±

OF Henry Bolte (A¡¯s No. 12 prospect)
2023 (Single-A Stockton) stats: 112 games, .257/.356/.421, 14 HR, 17 2B, 5 3B, 68 RBI, 32 SB, 62 BB, 164 K

Shortly after signing him as a second-round MLB Draft pick in 2022, the A¡¯s got a good look at the serious raw power that Bolte possesses. During a pregame workout shortly after inking his pro contract, Bolte suited up and bashed several home runs at the Oakland Coliseum during batting practice. Since then, the 20-year-old Palo Alto High School product has added even more muscle to his athletic 6-foot-3 frame, which was on full display during his first full season last year.

A¡¯s director of player development Ed Sprague: ¡°Couldn¡¯t be happier for Henry. We had some things we wanted to work on with him last year in terms of swing-and-miss at the top of the zone. He committed to that and hit the ground running. He cut down on swing-and-miss. He played super hard. The tools are there. He can run. He can throw. He¡¯s got great power. It was always just that swing-and-miss, and he cut that out to the point where he really competes at the plate. The development path for him last year was really impressive.¡±

3B Brett Harris (A¡¯s No. 11 prospect)
2023 (Double-A Midland and Triple-A Las Vegas) stats: 105 games, .279/.383/.424, 9 HR, 23 2B, 3 3B, 62 RBI, 10 SB, 50 BB, 69 K

A seventh-round pick by the A¡¯s in the 2021 MLB Draft, Harris has steadily worked his way up the system with solid production at each level. After a strong start with Double-A Midland, Harris played his way up to Triple-A Las Vegas before a pitch struck his face and caused him to miss the final four weeks of the season. Harris recovered in time to get in extra work at the Arizona Fall League, and now, he's in a good position to reach the big leagues at some point in 2024.

Sprague: ¡°Brett is a fantastic player. A true pro. He¡¯s [a] product of all the tools as opposed to one carrying tool. He¡¯s a solid defender at third and can play some second. He hits the ball around the ballpark. He¡¯s going to come into some power later. He plays the game hard and plays it right. Probably one of the better all-around guys in the organization.¡±

3B Myles Naylor (A¡¯s No. 9 prospect)
2023 (Arizona Complex League and Single-A Stockton) stats: 34 games, .214/.288/.381, 6 HR, 3 2B, 17 RBI, 2 SB, 12 BB, 55 K

Myles joined older brothers Josh and Bo, as well as cousin Denzel Clarke (A¡¯s No. 4 prospect), in the pro ranks as a Competitive Balance Round A pick by the A¡¯s at No. 39 overall in the 2023 MLB Draft. He struggled a bit more than the club was expecting to begin his pro career, though the A¡¯s remain high on his serious raw power, which should show up more as the 18-year-old continues to grow into his big 6-foot-2 frame.

Sprague: ¡°We¡¯re excited about Myles with two pro brothers that have been around the game a long time. He played pretty competitive with some Canadian teams. He¡¯s got natural power. He¡¯s got a chance to get really big and strong, and the power is seriously legitimate. ¡­ I imagine he will start the season [at Stockton] and if he does well, he¡¯ll move up towards the end of the year. Myles is a very good prospect.¡±
