Phillies players host clinic for Nike RBI Baseball youths on MLK Day
Members of the 2024 National League East champion Phillies returned to town on Monday for a special MLK Day of Service clinic for Phillies Nike RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) youth baseball teams.
Infielders Kody Clemens, Weston Wilson and rookie and Millville, N.J., native Buddy Kennedy, along with pitchers Orion Kerkering and Cristopher S¨¢nchez paid it forward during today¡¯s clinic by providing instruction in hitting, pitching and fielding from Citizens Bank Park¡¯s indoor batting tunnels. The young athletes also got some major league advice during a Q&A session with the pros.
1993 National League champions Mickey Morandini and Milt Thompson, along with 1980 World Series champion Dickie Noles, also took part in the event with the Phillies¡¯ Youth Baseball & Softball Development staff.
The offseason happening was a part of the Phillies Winter Tour, featuring various community and charitable events taking place just one month before pitchers and catchers report for spring training in Clearwater, Fla.
