WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Athletics optioned left-handed pitcher Hogan Harris to Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today. The move clears a roster spot for left-handed pitcher Angel Perdomo, who was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels yesterday.
Harris pitched in one game in the season-opening four-game series at Seattle, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one in 0.1 innings. He had no decisions, a 0.71 ERA and .485 opponents OPS in nine games, including one start, this spring. Harris held the opposition to a .105 batting average, but walked a team-leading 12 batters, which was second most in the Cactus League.
Perdomo began the spring with the Atlanta Braves, was traded to the Angels for cash considerations on March 17, and was designated for assignment on March 25. He combined for a 1.80 ERA and .624 opponents OPS in 10 Spring Training appearances. The 30-year-old left-hander held the opposition to a .200 batting average but walked six batters in 10.0 innings. Perdomo spent the entire 2024 season on the Braves injured list as he continued his recovery from Oct. 6, 2023 “Tommy John” surgery. He last pitched in the majors in 2023 with Pittsburgh when he was 3-2 with 3.72 ERA in 30 relief appearances. Perdomo is 4-2 with a 5.55 ERA in 52 relief appearances in the three seasons in the majors with the Brewers (2020-21) and Pirates (2022).
