Brewers Announce Additions to Major League High Performance Staff
Team Adds Brad Epstein as Head Athletic Trainer
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers today named Brad Epstein head athletic trainer and Lee Meyer assistant athletic trainer. In addition, Keegan Knoll and Jos¨¦ Salas were named assistant strength and conditioning specialists and Adam Auer was named performance dietitian.
Nick Jensen was promoted to assistant athletic trainer while assistant athletic trainer/physical therapist Bryn Hester remains on staff. Dave Yeager will transition to a new role as special assistant to high performance after spending the last 13 seasons (2012-24) as assistant athletic trainer.
Epstein, 41, spent the previous two seasons (2023-24) as Major League rehab coordinator/physical therapist with the Tampa Bay Rays. He worked 13 seasons (2010-22) for the Cincinnati Reds as organizational rehab coordinator and physical therapist (2010-16), director of physical therapy/rehab (2017-21) and director of rehab and Major League assistant athletic trainer (2022). Epstein also served as head athletic trainer for Team Israel in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
Meyer, who will turn 41 on December 27, joins the Brewers after three seasons (2022-24) as head athletic trainer for the Miami Marlins. He was an assistant athletic trainer at the Major League level with the Houston Astros from 2019-21. Jensen, 32, is coming off his fifth season in the Brewers organization and first as director of player health. He spent his first four seasons with the team as coordinator of Minor League medical (2019-23).
Knoll and Salas round out the team¡¯s strength and conditioning staff under Jason Meredith, who will return for his ninth season in the organization and third in his current role as strength and conditioning specialist.
Knoll, 34, joins the Brewers after seven seasons with the Chicago Cubs (2018-24). He was promoted to Major League strength and conditioning coach in June 2022 after serving as assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2020-22. Salas, 36, spent the last nine seasons (2016-24) in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, most recently as Latin America strength and conditioning coordinator (2024) and Minor League strength and conditioning coordinator (2022-23).
Auer, 39, was the Major League dietitian for the Miami Marlins in 2024. He previously spent 11 seasons (2013-23) in the Los Angeles Angels organization, including five (2019-23) as assistant Major League strength and conditioning coach and assistant to the head dietitian.
