Arlington, Texas ¡ª The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to Sunday¡¯s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Globe Life Field.
- OF Wyatt Langford activated from the 10-day Injured List (right oblique strain).
- UTL Ezequiel Duran optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
Langford, 23, was placed on the 10-day Injured List on April 9 and missed Texas¡¯ last 9 games after suffering a right oblique strain during his plate appearance in the 7th inning on April 8 at Chicago-NL. The outfielder was sent to Double-A Frisco Thursday on an injury rehab assignment, going 2-for-6 with one home run, one RBI, 2 walks, and 2 runs scored in 2 games vs. Amarillo. He logged 4 plate appearances as Frisco¡¯s DH on Thursday and played 7.0 innings of leftfield Friday.
Before landing on the Injured List, Langford hit .244/.333/.561/.894 (10-48) with a team-high-tying 4 home runs, one double, 6 RBI, 5 walks, and 6 runs scored in 12 games for Texas this year, starting each of the club¡¯s first 12 contests in leftfield. The right-handed hitter has reached base safely via a hit or walk in 11 of his 12 starts with the Rangers in 2025, posting 3 multi-hit efforts. In 2 MLB seasons with Texas (2024-25), Langford has slashed .252/.326/.426/.752 (136-540) with 20 home runs, 4 triples, 26 doubles, 80 RBI, 21 stolen bases, and 80 runs scored across 146 games.
Duran, 25, has gone 0-for-14 with one RBI, one sacrifice fly, and 4 strikeouts in 7 games across 2 stints with Texas: Opening Day to April 8, April 9-19. The utilityman has appeared at third base (3 games/2 starts), first base (1 game/start), shortstop (1 game), second base (1 game), and pitcher (1 game) with the Rangers this year. He was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on April 8 but did not appear with the Express, as he was subsequently recalled by Texas the following day when the club placed Langford on the 10-day Injured List.
With today¡¯s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club¡¯s Major League roster, along with three players (Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List.
