Red Sox agree to terms with three players on one-year contracts
BOSTON, MA¡ªThe Boston Red Sox have agreed to terms with three players on one-year contracts for the 2025 season: Kutter Crawford, Garrett Crochet, and Tanner Houck.
With today¡¯s agreements, outfielder Jarren Duran is the only remaining Red Sox player eligible for salary arbitration.
Crawford, 28, tied the Major League lead with a career-high 33 starts in 2024. The right-hander also led the Red Sox and set career highs in innings pitched (183.2) and strikeouts (175), recording a 4.36 ERA (89 ER). Selected by Boston in the 16th round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft, the Florida native owns a 4.56 ERA (199 ER/392.1 IP) in 86 career Major League games (69 starts), all with the Red Sox (2021-24).
Crochet, 25, was acquired by Boston from the Chicago White Sox on December 11, 2024. The left-hander was named a 2024 All-Star, making 32 starts for Chicago and posting a 3.58 ERA (58 ER/146.0 IP) with 209 strikeouts. Originally selected by the White Sox in the first round (No. 11 overall) of the 2020 First-Year Player Draft, the Mississippi native has recorded a 3.29 ERA (80 ER/219.0 IP) with 294 strikeouts in 104 career Major League games (32 starts), all with Chicago (2020-24).
Houck, 28, earned his first career All-Star selection in 2024, posting a 3.12 ERA (62 ER/178.2 IP) with 154 strikeouts in 30 starts. Selected by Boston in the first round (No. 24 overall) of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft, the Missouri native owns a 3.55 ERA (170 ER/430.2 IP) in 104 career Major League games, all with the Red Sox (2020-24).
