BOSTON, MA¡ªThe Boston Red Sox today recalled right-handed pitcher Luis Guerrero from Triple-A Worcester. To make room on the active roster, Boston optioned right-handed pitcher Josh Winckowski to Worcester following last night¡¯s game against the Seattle Mariners.
Guerrero, 24, has pitched in eight games for Worcester this season, recording a 5.23 ERA (6 ER/10.1 IP) with one save. Selected by the Red Sox in the 17th round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the right-hander made his MLB debut in 2024, allowing one run (zero earned runs) in 10.0 innings across nine appearances for Boston.
Winckowski, 26, threw 3.0 innings in last night¡¯s game against Seattle. The right-hander has pitched in six games for the Red Sox this season, posting a 3.86 ERA (5 ER/11.2 IP). He has also made two appearances for Triple-A Worcester, striking out nine batters over 6.0 innings while allowing four runs (three earned). Originally selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 15th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, the Ohio native has posted a 4.20 ERA (113 ER/242.1 IP) with 195 strikeouts in 121 career games (21 starts) for the Red Sox (2022-25).
