Space City Home Network and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo? Announce Broadcast Partnership
HOUSTON, Texas 每 Space City Home Network today announces a partnership with Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, to broadcast RODEOHOUSTON ?, starting with the 2025 event, March 4-23 at NRG Stadium. The mutually beneficial partnership will enhance the visibility and reach of the Rodeo through broadcasting on Space City Home Network.
From March 4 - March 23, 2025, Space City Home Network will air daily live coverage of all RODEOHOUSTON events, including tie-down roping, bareback riding, team roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway roping, and bull riding, as well as fan favorites such as calf scramble, chuckwagon races and mutton bustin*.
RODEOHOUSTON will air on SCHN main channel unless it directly conflicts with the Houston Rockets or Houston Astros telecast, where you would then find the events on the alternate channel. For more information on channels and schedules, click here.
The network will also feature quarterly shows highlighting the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo*s year-round impact, keeping audiences connected to its mission. These regular updates showcase how the organization continuously supports education, youth initiatives, and agricultural programs in the community through its proceeds.

This year*s coverage of RODEOHOUSTON will include a 30-minute preview show airing prior to the event called ※Countdown to Rodeo,§ featuring interviews with key participants and behind-the-scenes preparations.
In the announcer booth calling all the action will be Bob Tallman, Andy Seiler and Boyd Polhamus. Providing color commentary on the dirt will be Janie Johnson. Tallman has been the distinctive voice of RODEOHOUSTON for more than 40 years. His iconic, ※Hello, Houston§ can be heard at the beginning of every performance. Polhamus joined Tallman as part of the announcing team over three decades ago with Andy Seiler rounding out the team in the booth in 2014. Johnson is a native Texan who has been a TV host and sideline reporter in the rodeo industry for 10 years, but 2025 will be her first year with RODEOHOUSTON.
The 2024 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo made a remarkable contribution to the local economy, generating a total economic impact of $326 million and total economic activity worth $597 million in the Greater Houston area.

- There are eight Rodeo events organized into five three-day Super Series, two Semifinal rounds, two Wild Card rounds, and a Championship round. The Championship includes 10 athletes competing in each event, with the top four immediately competing in a Championship Shootout Round to determine the event champion and the now $65,000 prize winner, a $15,000 increase from 2024.
- RODEOHOUSTON Super Series was established and implemented in 2007, as part of the 75th anniversary of the Show. Women*s breakaway roping debuted at RODEOHOUSTON in 2022, and in 2023, moved to compete for 20 consecutive nights. Also in 2023, RODEOHOUSTON redistributed nearly $250,000 in funds to contestants when what was called the Super Shootout was eliminated.
- RODEOHOUSTON is an official PRCA National Finals Rodeo (NFR) Money Event, with earnings from RODEOHOUSTON counting toward qualification for the NFR and the PRCA World Standings.
- The total purse has been increased to $2.5 million for 2025. For each of the eight events, the total payout has now increased from $242,000 to $281,500. The rodeo events include tie-down roping, bareback riding, team roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway roping and bull riding.
