Successful kickoff to the 2025 Astros season with FanFest
21,009 fans participated in FanFest on Saturday at Daikin Park
HOUSTON, Texas - The Astros hosted a successful 2025 FanFest on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Daikin Park.
The official kickoff of the 2025 season saw 21,009 fans participate in autograph sessions, photo opportunities, games, Fan Forums, Q&As, play catch on the field, take swings in the batting cages, and more.
¡°We loved having the greatest fans in baseball back at Daikin Park to kick off the 2025 season and we appreciate our players and coaches spending the day with them,¡± says Anita Sehgal, Astros Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communications. ¡°Fan Fest is such a special day and we love providing this wonderful experience of amazing moments and memories for fans of all ages.¡±
Astros Manager Joe Espada participated in FanFest along with eight members of his coaching and support staff: Omar L¨®pez (bench coach), Josh Miller (pitching coach), Bill Murphy (pitching coach), Troy Snitker (hitting coach), Dave Clark (first base coach), Tony Perezchica (third base coach), Michael Collins (coach), and Javier Bracamonte (bullpen catcher).
Astros General Manager Dana Brown also took part in FanFest.
The Astros had 28 players at FanFest, including 2B Jose Altuve, RHP Spencer Arrighetti, RHP Ronel Blanco, RHP Hunter Brown, C Yainer Diaz, LHP Josh Hader, RHP Cristian Javier, OF Jake Meyers and SS Jeremy Pe?a. The player group also included, RHP Luis Contreras, OF Kenedy Corona, IF Zach Dezenzo, RHP Shawn Dubin, RHP J.P. France, RHP Luis Garcia, LHP Colton Gordon, RHP Ryan Gusto, RHP Nick Hernandez, LHP Bryan King, OF Pedro Le¨®n, IF Brice Matthews, RHP Kaleb Ort, RHP Tayler Scott, 1B Jon Singleton, OF Taylor Trammell, RHP Hayden Wesneski, IF Shay Whitcomb and RHP Forrest Whitley.
Several Astros alumni were also in attendance, including Astros Hall of Famers Jeff Bagwell, C¨¦sar Cede?o, Jos¨¦ Cruz, Larry Dierker, Terry Puhl, and Shane Reynolds, as well as Brandon Backe, Kevin Bass, Michael Bourn, Jason Castro, J.C. Hartman, Art Howe and Chris Sampson.
Many members of the broadcast teams on Astros TV and Astros radio also had a presence. This group included Todd Kalas, Geoff Blum, Julia Morales, Robert Ford, Francisco Romero, Alex Trevi?o, Brian Bogusevic and Kevin Eschenfelder.
FanFest is also the culmination of a successful Astros Caravan from January 23-24, which gave fans the opportunity to connect with players, alumni, broadcasters and front office personnel at various locations as the club approaches the start of Spring Training. This year¡¯s caravan made visits to Austin, Baytown, Beaumont and Central Texas on Jan. 23 and Cypress, Prairie View, College Station, Sugar Land and San Antonio on Jan. 24.
