Injury: Right hand soreness
Expected return: Opening Day
Status: Casas barehanded a well-struck ball on March 24 in Monterrey, Mexico and was out of the lineup the next day. Alex Cora said the slugger is feeling better and should be in the lineup on Opening Day. (Last updated: March 25)
INF Romy Gonzalez
Injury: Right oblique soreness
Expected return: Aiming for Opening Day
Status: The utility infielder played games on the back fields on March 24-25 and should be ready for Opening Day. (Last updated: March 25)
RHP Brayan Bello
Injury: Right shoulder inflammation
Expected return: Early-to-mid April
Status: Bello started a Minor League game on March 22, marking his first start of camp. He will pitch again March 27. He will miss two to three turns in the rotation as he continues to build his pitch count. (Last updated: March 23)
RHP Lucas Giolito
Injury: Low grade left hamstring strain
Expected return: Some point in April
Status: Giolito pitched two innings at the Red Sox complex on March 23. He should only miss two to three starts at the beginning of the regular season. (Last updated: March 23)

Expected return: Late April/Early May

Expected return: Midseason

LHP Zach Penrod
Injury: Left elbow inflammation
Expected return: May or later
Status: Alex Cora said Penrod is going to be out "for a while," but the team is hoping rest and rehab will fix the situation instead of surgery. (Last updated: Feb. 22)

Injury: Underwent Tommy John surgery to reconstruct left UCL on April 10, 2024
Expected return: After the All-Star break
