CINCINNATI ¨C In a move that added catching depth on Friday, the Reds agreed to terms with Rocky Gale on a Minor League contract. Gale will be invited to Spring Training as a non-roster player.

Over parts of four seasons, the 32-year-old Gale is a .108 hitter (4-for-37) with one homer in 22 big league games with the Padres and Dodgers. The last of those came in 2019 for Los Angeles, and he spent 2020 at that club¡¯s alternate site.

In his 10 Minor League seasons, Gale is a .263/.306/.333 hitter with 17 homers.
