ARLINGTON -- A limited number of fans will be allowed to attend the National League Championship Series presented by Camping World and the World Series at Globe Life Field.

In conjunction with the Rangers, Major League Baseball has made approximately 11,500 tickets available for each game, with 10,550 fans spread throughout the ballpark and 950 in suites. The Rangers opened their $1.2 billion ballpark this season but did not have the ability to sell tickets during their 30-game home schedule.

¡°I feel like a 10-year-old boy coming down the stairs Christmas morning, and they¡¯ve got all of the presents wrapped up, and I can¡¯t open a present,¡± Rangers owner Ray Davis said. ¡°That¡¯s the way I felt about our stadium this year. And that¡¯s why, frankly, I¡¯m excited about having the [NL] Division Series and League Championship and World Series here in our stadium.¡±

Tickets for all seven games of each series are on sale now on MLB.com and texasrangers.com. Game 1 of the NLCS on Oct. 12, will be the first time fans will be able to attend a game at Globe Life Field and the first time fans can attend any game during the 2020 MLB season. The 116th World Series begins on Oct. 20. Globe Life Field will host the first neutral-site World Series in modern baseball history.

¡°To see fans in our ballpark is going to be very exciting,¡± said Rob Matwick, Rangers executive vice president for business operations. ¡°This is what we have been pointing for since we started the construction back four years ago. To see it come to fruition is pretty significant. Not necessarily the circumstances we hoped to have -- we hoped to have the Rangers on the field -- but it will be exciting to see fans come into Globe Life Field in the fall of 2020.¡±

The number of tickets sold will be approximately 28% of capacity. The state of Texas allows up to 50% capacity at sporting events.

¡°It is just a work in progress with Major League Baseball,¡± Matwick said. ¡°The health and safety of our players and making sure we can get these most important games of the year played was the basis for what we were able to sell. For where we are with the virus and the protocols, I think it¡¯s a good place.¡±

The Rangers and MLB are hopeful as many games as possible will be played with the roof open, weather permitting. Approximately 200-250 seasonal employees will be brought back to work the games.

Tickets in the seating bowl will be sold in groups of four contiguous seats, called pods. Individuals may purchase a limit of one pod per NLCS and World Series game.

Seats within each pod cannot be broken apart for sale.

All pods will be a minimum of six feet away from each other.

No seats will be sold within 20 feet of where a player can be located on the field, in the dugouts or in the bullpen.

Masks will be mandatory for all fans, except when actively eating or drinking at their ticketed seats.

Hand-sanitizing stations will be available throughout the ballpark.

No bags will be permitted, except for those that are carried for medical reasons or manufactured diaper bags that accompany infants and young children.
