The past week has been filled with exciting announcements identifying which young stars will take the next step in their careers. From Texas manager Bruce Bochy delivering the good news to Wyatt Langford to Pittsburgh skipper Derek Shelton messing with Jared Jones about inning limits, a total of 15 Top 100 prospects were told they will be on Opening Day rosters on March 28.
In addition to Langford (No. 6), two other top 10 prospects will be in The Show come Opening Day. MLB's No. 2 prospect, Jackson Chourio, will be patrolling the outfield for Milwaukee and playoff revelation Evan Carter (No. 5) will hold down left field for the Rangers.
From there, the start of Minor League games is not far behind. The Triple-A season will commence on March 29, with Double-A, High-A and Single-A games starting on Friday, April 5.
As for the prospects in the Minors, Jackson Holliday (No. 1), Paul Skenes (No. 3) and Junior Caminero (No. 4) are among the 25 Top 100 prospects opening at Triple-A while 31 will be at Double-A, 11 at High-A and 10 at Single-A. Eight are dealing with various injuries or suspensions and will not begin the campaign on an active roster.
