Ed Weber
Chief Financial Officer
Ed Weber was named Major League Baseball¡¯s Chief Financial Officer by Commissioner of Baseball Robert D. Manfred, Jr. in January 2025. In this capacity, Weber oversees all aspects of MLB¡¯s financial reporting, budgeting, treasury and tax functions, insurance and risk management, and issues related to Club finance and economics.
Prior to his current position, Weber served as MLB¡¯s Executive Vice President and Deputy CFO. Weber began his baseball career in 2006, when he became Senior Vice President and CFO of MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM). In that role, he was responsible for the interactive media company¡¯s strategic and financial planning, financial reporting, and treasury functions. Before joining MLBAM, the CPA was Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Sirius Satellite Radio.
Weber received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University in 1992, graduating with honors, and serves as a member of the external advisory board for Penn State¡¯s Schreyer Honors College, which he attended. He has served on the marketing board of the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.
Weber and his wife have two daughters and reside in New Jersey.
