Season was limited to just 3 minor league rehab starts as he rehabbed from June 2008 reconstructive right elbow surgery followed by elbow/forearm tightness during his rehab that ended his season before it began...Rehabbed in Goodyear, AZ in spring training and over the first two months of the regular season before making 2 rehab starts at AA Akron on June 6 & 12 (7.0IP, 4H, 0R)...Was shut down from throwing for 3 weeks before resuming the rehab trail and made 1 more start at Akron on August 4 before more soreness in the elbow region and was ordered to not throw for 6 weeks, effectively ending a timetable to pitch for the Indians in the regular season... Began rehabbing again in October 2009 and made 4 starts for Ponce in the Puerto Rican Winter League beginning on November 28 (13.1IP).

2008

Season was limited to just 5 starts as he spent a pair of stints on the disabled list and underwent season-ending right elbow surgery on June 12 that will push his rehab into the middle of the 2009 campaign... Placed on the 15-day DL on April 22 with a strained left intercostal as he was injured in the 7th inning of start in Minnesota on April 19...At the time of his first DL stint he was 1-2 w/a 2.73 ERA in 4 starts (29.2IP, 28H, 9ER, .255 AVG)...Made rehab starts at Lake County on May 18 (3.2IP) and at AA Akron on May 23 (6.0IP, 3H, 0R)...Activated from DL on May 28 and started that day against the Chicago White Sox (5.0IP, 5 H, 3ER), in what would be his final start of the year...DL#2- Was placed on the DL on June 3 with right elbow inflammation and was later diagnosed with a torn ligament in his throwing elbow...Underwent UCL ligament reconstruction on his right elbow in Anaheim, CAL by Dr. Lewis Yocum on June 12 that will push his rehab into mid-season of 2009... Spent his first season in the Indians organization after spending the 2000 season in the Yankees organization between AAA Columbus, New York and the DL...The 24-year old promising right-hander bounced around between AAA Buffalo and the big leagues, spending the month of July in the Indians rotation...Spent five stints with Cleveland in 2001, spending the remainder of the year at AAA Buffalo...Began the year at Buffalo and made major league stints from 4/10-22, 5/29-6/1, 6/2-5, 6/15-7/31 and from 8/24 through the remainder of the season...Was optioned out of spring training on 3/20...Made his Indians debut on 4/11 at Chicago-AL, working 3.1 IP in relief of Chuck Finley...His first 10 appearances in the big leagues came in relief, compiling a mark of 1-0 with a 2.75 ERA over his first 10 outings thru 6/29 (19.2 IP, 21 H, 6 R/ER, 5 BB, 14 SO)...Picked up his first major league win in the Tribe's 4-2 win over the Minnesota Twins on 6/20, working a scoreless 5th inning in relief of Chuck Finley... 2000

Spent the season in the Yankees organization between AAA Columbus, New York and the disabled list...Began the year at AAA Columbus after his option out of major league camp on 3/7...Made his first 13 starts of the season for the AAA Clippers from 4/6 to 6/8, going 5-6 with a 4.66 ERA (75.1 IP, 77 H, 39 ER) before being recalled by the Yankees on 6/17...Tossed back-to-back complete game victories on 5/29 (7.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R/ER, 1 BB, 3 SO) vs. Buffalo and on 6/3 at Ottawa (9.0 IP, 7 H, 3 R/2 ER, 2 BB, 11 SO)...Jacob made his major league debut on 6/17 vs. the Chicago White Sox in Yankee Stadium...Lost his debut to the White Sox, 10-9, allowing 6 runs (6 ER) in 1.2 innings...Appeared in the relief the next day against Chicago (2.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R) and made his second and last start at the big league level on 6/22 at Boston (2.2 IP, 6 H, 4 R/ER, 2 BB, 1 SO)...Was optioned back to AAA Columbus on 6/23...Made three more appearances in Columbus for the Clippers (0-1, 13.2 IP, 17 H, 7 ER) before going on the Columbus disabled list with what was originally diagnosed as a strained left oblique muscle...Was acquired by the Indians on 7/25 and was transferred to the AAA Buffalo disabled list...Injury was later diagnosed as a broken rib...Was transferred to the 60-day disabled list on 9/1 when Chris Nichting was added to the 40-man roster...Tabbed as the 7th best prospect in the Indians organization by Baseball America after the season.

1999

Pitched in the Montreal system for the second straight year before being traded to New York for RHP Hideki Irabu on 12/22...For the third straight season he recorded a double-digit win total, made at least 27 starts and topped to 170.0 inning plateau...In his final 14 starts from 6/23-9/3 he was 9-1 with a 1.93 ERA (97.2 IP, 21 ER) with two shutouts...Was named Expos Minor League Pitcher of the Month in August, going 5-0 with a 1.91 ERA (37.2 IP, 8 ER)...After the trade he was named the 10th best prospect in the Yankee organization by Baseball America.

1998

Pitched to A Jupiter in the Florida State League in Expos system...Finished 2nd in the Florida State League with 171.0 innings pitched and his 3.26 ERA was 8th.

1997

Played for A Asheville in the South Atlantic League in the Rockies organization...Established a career-best 14 wins for the Tourists, which finished tied for first in the SAL...His 2 shutouts were tied for 2nd in the SAL, his 3 complete games were tied for 5th and his 170.0 IP were T-5th...Was traded to the Expos for 2B Mike Lansing on 12/16.

1996

Split the year between the Rockies Arizona Rookie League squad and Portland, going a combined 5-3 with a 2.78 ERA in 15 starts (87.1 IP, 88 H, 27 ER)...His 2.87 ERA was the 8th best mark in the Arizona Rookie League.
