Drafted by the Blue Jays in the supplemental round (32nd selection overall) of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft, the first of two compensatory picks for the loss of Kelvim Escobar through free agency... Agreed to terms with the Club on July 20, after posting a 10-7 record and a 3.58 ERA in 18 starts at Texas A&M University... Made his professional debut, pitching 2.2 innings in Jamestown on August 16... Made three other regular season starts but did not figure in the decision in any, while pitching to a 5.40 ERA... Took the loss in the second and deciding game of Auburn's semifinal with Mahoning Valley giving up five earned runs on seven hits in 3.1 innings... Was selected by Baseball America as the 8th top prospect in the organization.
