A week-long stay on the Opening Day roster would turn into almost an entire season on the Injured List, as his year was limited to just 8 total appearances in the Majors and Minors¡ spent the bulk of the season on IL from 4/8-10/2 with right elbow inflammation¡pitched in 3 of Rangers¡¯ 1st 6 games before IL stint, then was activated for the final day of the season on 10/3 vs. CLE (1.0 IP, 1 SO, 3 BF), going nearly 6 months between app. (last 4/7 vs. TOR)¡season debut on 4/3 at KC was 1st ML appearance since 6/13/18 at LAD¡had 4-G rehab run with Round Rock (AAA) in late September: 3.0 IP, 0 R, 4 BB, 3 SO.
2020
Was in minor league camp at Spring Training, but did not see any action before the March shut down¡did not participate in Summer Camp, was not in 60-man player pool, and did not go to fall instructional league¡worked out at Globe Life Field over the 2020-21 offseason, is expected to have full participation in Spring Training, and be ready for start of regular season.

Opened season in extended spring training and was assigned to Frisco on 6/8, posting 1.04 ERA (1 ER/8.2 IP) with .103 opp. BA (3-29) over 9 G with RoughRiders¡had 8.0 SHO IP over 1st 8 outings, but exited final appearance on 6/30/19 vs. Midland after throwing just 8 pitches and retiring one of 2 BF in the 8th inning¡was on the back end of pitching on back-to-back days for the 1st time, one of the likely final steps before an expected promotion to Texas...elected free agency on 11/4/19 before signing a 2-year minor league contract on 12/16/19.

Despite being sidelined by a pair of health issues, still ranked 2nd on the staff in games (57), games finished (22), and saves (10) in his sophomore season…posted a 3.78 ERA that was over one-and-a-quarter runs higher than last year (2.48)… his 10.0 SO/9 was an improvement over his rookie season (8.9), but had higher BB/9 (3.3), HR/9 (1.2) and WHIP (1.452), with the WHIP figure being over 500 points higher than 2016 (0.941)… went 10-for-15 in save chances, with team-high 5 blown saves ranking T10th-most in A.L…served as club's primary closer from late April through end of June…converted 8 of 9 chances from 4/23-6/13, but was 2-for-last-5 in save tries, with last save chance being blown save on 6/30 at CWS…allowed runs in 2 of 1st 3 outings, then had a 0.00 ERA (2 R-0 ER/15.0 IP) over 16 outings from 4/16-5/30 to lower season figure to 0.96…final 38 outings beg. 5/31: 5.35 ERA (20 ER/33.2 IP), .297/.370/.493/.863 opp. slash with 6 HR allowed.
