Led Asheville with 43 relief appearances, going 2-2, 3.05...averaged 10.6 strikeouts per 9 innings (52 K/44.1 ip) and 4 strikeouts for every walk (52 K/13 BB)...allowed just 2 runs over a span of 22 games and 22.2 innings from May 11-July 9 (0.79 ERA), lowering season figure from 4.66 to 1.95 in that stretch...gave up one run in 10 appearances during the month of July (0.90 ERA in 10.0 innings)...did not pitch between appearances on July 11 and Aug. 7, missing nearly a month with inflammation in his right elbow...of his 3 home runs allowed, 2 came after he returned from that stint on the disabled list...issued last walk on June 17 vs. Augusta, as he did not allow a free pass over his final 19 games and 19.1 innings...recorded season highs with 3.0 innings and 5 strikeouts on May 17 vs. Kannapolis.

In only season of his career to be used solely as a starter, Corpas established career highs with 5 wins and 84.0 innings...led all short-season Rockies in innings, 3rd-most in the Northwest League...the 5 wins led Tri-City staff, also tying Jeff Watchko for most among short-season farmhands...tossed at least 6.0 innings in each of his first 4 starts...earned first win on July 2 at Yakima (8.0 ip, 3 h, 1 r-er, 1 bb, 9 so), the longest outing and most strikeouts of any outing in his career...only run allowed in that game came on a solo homer...won 3 of 4 starts from July 2-22...named league pitcher of the week, July 21-27, following win on July 22 vs. Yakima in which he allowed just one hit, no walks and an unearned run in 7.0 innings...allowed just 2 home runs over his final 9 starts and 49.1 innings...issued just 5 walks in first 10 starts and 59.0 innings, but 17 free passes in final 5 outings and 25.0 frames.
