Daniel Robert Schlereth (pronounced "sh-LAIR-eth")....Wife's name is Bree...One daughter; Quinn (1/27/13)...His father Mark, who is currently an NFL analyst and talk show host on ESPN, played 12 seasons in the NFL as an offensive lineman with the Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos and was a part of three Super Bowl champion teams...Underwent left elbow construction surgery following his senior year at Highlands Ranch (CO) High School in 2004...Posted a 3-1 record and 4.56 ERA with seven saves and 64 strikeouts in 23 games as a freshman at the University of Arizona in 2006...Finished 3-1 with a 2.68 ERA, eight saves and 47 strikeouts in 24 apperances (one start) during his sophomore season at the University of Arizona in 2007...Was selected by Oakland in the eighth round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft but did not sign...Compiled a 2-0 record, 1.81 ERA, one save and 76 strikeouts in 34 appearances at the University of Arizona in 2008.

2013

Attended spring training as a non-roster invitee with Baltimore...Was limited to 12 appearances with Norfolk (Orioles' AAA) due to a pair of trips to the disabled list...Was scored upon twice in his 12 appearances but was charged with just one earned run...Stranded each of his seven inherited runners...Worked 1.0 inning or less in 10 of his 12 outings...Allowed just six singles in his 11.0 innings of work while limiting opposing hitters to a .158 batting average (6-for-38)...Allowed one hit, a walk and hit two batters but picked up the win with 2.0 scoreless innings in season debut on 4/7 vs. Durham...Picked up second and final win in third appearance on 4/13 vs. Gwinnett...Was charged with his only earned run after allowing one run on hit and three walks in 1.0 inning on 4/21 at Durham...Was placed on the disabled list for the first time on 5/12 with a left shoulder impingement...Was reinstated from the disabled list on 5/19 but did not see any action before being placed back on the D.L. on 5/23 with the same injury...Was reinstated from the disabled list on 8/28 and tossed a combined 1.1 scoreless innings in two appearances to end the season.

Made the Tigers Opening Day roster out of Spring Training, appearing in six games with the club before landing on the DL for the remainder of the season on April 21 with left shoulder tendinitis ... Assigned to Single A Lakeland on an injury rehabilitation assignment on August 3 ... Compiled a 1.13 ERA (8.0IP, ER) and nine strikeouts in eight outings (six starts) with Lakeland ... Had his injury rehabilitation assignment transferred from Lakeland to Triple A Toledo on August 25 ... Posted a 10.80 ERA (1.2IP, 2ER) in three appearances with the Mud Hens.

2011
