Jairo Jose Díaz resides in Puerto La Cruz, Anzoategui, Venezuela...He and his late wife, Duby Leal De Díaz, have a daughter, Hannah Charlotte...At the age of 14, Díaz left school to attend a baseball academy in his hometown of Puerto La Cruz...Signed to play professional baseball at the age of 16 … began playing baseball as a catcher, before converting to a pitcher at the age of 19.

Made 13 relief appearances between Short-Season Boise, High-A Lancaster and Triple-A Albuquerque ... Combined across the three levels to go 1-1 with a 5.84 ERA (12.1 IP, 8 ER), nine walks and 11 strikeouts ... Declared free agency following the season and re-signed with the Rockies on a Minor League contract Jan. 2, 2019.

2017

Spent most of the season with Triple-A Albuquerque … made four appearances for Colorado between two stints...Went 0-0 with a 9.00 ERA (5.0 IP, 5 ER) in four appearances with the Rockies … pitched a career-high tying 2.0 innings on July 19 vs. San Diego...Was 0-1 with a 5.00 ERA (18.0 IP, 10 ER) and three saves over 20 appearances for Triple-A Albuquerque...Placed on the 10-day disabled list on April 2 to continue his recovery from Tommy John surgery … made two rehab appearances with High-A Lancaster before being reinstated April 20 … placed on the 60-day disabled list on Sept. 10 with right elbow inflammation.

Missed the entire 2016 season due to Tommy John surgery.

2015

Spent a majority of the season with Triple-A Albuquerque before being recalled by Colorado Aug. 23 where he would finish the remainder of the season. Went 0-1 with a 2.37 ERA (19.0 IP, 5 ER) in 21 appearances with the Rockies, striking out 18 batters and walking six. Allowed the frst run of his Rockies tenure and his frst career home run in the second game of the Sept. 1 doubleheader against Arizona after fve scoreless appearances (4.0 IP) to begin his Rockies career. Was 3-5 with a 4.58 ERA (55.0 IP, 28 ER) over 47 relief appearances for Albuquerque with eight saves in 14 opportunities … over his last eight games prior to being recalled, surrendered no runs in 11 innings pitched with 18 strikeouts and three walks.

2014

Appeared in three levels for the Angels, including making his Major League debut on Sept. 8 at Cleveland...In his five appearances for the Angeles, he did not receive a decision...allowed just two runs over 5.2 innings while striking out eight (three walks)...Began the season with High-A Inland Empire, making 29 appearances going 2-3 with four saves and a 4.78 ERA (32.0 IP, 17 ER) before being promoted on June 25...struck out 37 with just 10 walks...At Double-A Arkansas, he made 27 relief appearances and was a perfect 11-for-11 in save opportunities...went 2-1 with a 2.20 ERA (32.2 IP, 8 er) before his call-up to Los Angeles on 9/8...had 48 strikeouts with 10 walks.

2013

Split the season between Single-A Burlington and High-A Inland Empire...was 0-5 with a 5.91 ERA (56.1 IP, 37 ER) in 45 combined appearances...limited opponents to a .220 average (27-for-123) at Burlington and had a 3.97 ERA (34.0 IP, 15 ER) before being promoted on 7/10...finished the season with Inland Empire and went 0-2 for a 8.87 ERA (22.1 IP, 22 ER).

2012

Began the season with Single-A Cedar Rapids being finishing the year with Rookie Orem...made 17 combined starts, going 7-13 with a 6.45 ERA (143.2 IP, 103 ER), 52 walks and 106 strikeouts.

2011

Opened the year with the Arizona Angels, pitching in 11 games with 10 starts...went 4-1 with a 4.08 ERA (57.1 IP, 26 ER)...struck out 44 and walked only 18...promoted to Cedar Rapids on 8/18...made 4 starts for the Kernels and did not receive a win...was 0-3 with a 8.20 ERA (18.2 IP, 17 ER).

2010

Converted to a pitcher after spending the previous two seasons in the organization as a catcher...spent the entire season with the DSL Angels...was 3-1 with a 3.67 ERA (27.0 IP, 11 ER) in 16 relief appearances...converted 3 of 5 save opportunities.

2009

Appeared in 24 games for DSL Angels, hitting .118 (8-for-68) with 2 doubles, 5 RBI and 5 runs...made 20 starts behind the plate.
