Andrew John Susac...Wife’s name is Maggie...Has one son; Luke (4/21/20)...Is a 2009 graduate of Jesuit High School in Sacramento, CA, where he played baseball and football (linebacker and tight end)...Attended Oregon State University...Played for the Falmouth Commodores in the Cape Cod League in 2010 and was named the fifth best prospect in the league by Baseball America...Is the grandson of immigrants from the former Yugoslavia.

2020

Spent majority of season on the Pirates Taxi Squad...Was selected to the Major League roster on 9/27 and started the final game of the season in Cleveland that afternoon...Went 0-for-2 with two walks at the plate.

2019

Attended spring training as a nonroster invitee with Baltimore before being traded to the Royals organization on 4/2 for cash considerations... Was assigned to Triple-A Omaha, where he was limited to 26 games...Tallied an RBI in five straight games from 5/9-19...Collected a season-high four RBI on 5/17 at Oklahoma City...Threw out five of the 26 baserunners (19%) attempting to steal against him...Was placed on the injured list on 5/27 with a broken left wrist and missed remainder of the season.

2018

Recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on 5/17, appearing in his season debut at BOS that night; went 1-for-3 with a double and run scored... Threw out two of seven (28.6%) attempted base stealers while with the Orioles... Appeared in 42 games for Triple-A Norfolk, hitting .256 (32-for-125) with seven doubles, six home runs, 15 runs, and 26 RBI... Threw out 10-of-24 (41.7%) attempted base stealers while with Triple-A Norfolk...Hit .292 (26-for-89) with four home runs and 19 RBI against right-handers while with Norfolk... Began the season on the 10-day disabled list with right trapezius tightness...Reinstated on 4/15 and optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs...Returned to the disabled list with a right trapezius strain from 8/18-31, retroactive to 8/15...Appeared in eight games with Milwaukee during two stints (8/4-17 and 9/1-end of season)...Went 1-for-12...Made two starts, both at catcher (8/7 at MIN, 8/12 vs. CIN)...The team posted a 6.92 ERA (10 ER/13.0 IP) when he caught...Did not have an opponent attempt to steal when he caught...Batted .205 with eight home runs and 35 RBI in 51 games at Triple-A Colorado Springs

2016

Began the season in the Giants organization, where he batted .273 with 8 HR and 36 RBI in 58 games at Triple-A Sacramento.....also appeared in 3 games at Class-A San Jose...Was traded to Milwaukee, along with RHP Phil Bickford, in exchange for LHP Will Smith on 8/1...Appeared in 11 games at Triple-A Colorado Springs before he was recalled on 9/6...Batted .235 with 1 HR and 2 RBI in 9 games with the Brewers...Made 4 starts, all at catcher...The team posted a 3.32 ERA when he caught (38ip, 14er)...Threw out 2 of 3 runners attempting to steal (66.7%)...Gave the Brewers a 6-4 win on the final day of the season, 10/2 at Colorado, with a 2-run homer off Chris Rusin in the 10th inning.

2015

Hit .218 with three home runs and 14 RBI in 52 games with the Giants in his second big league season....Missed a considerable amount of time in spring due to a wrist injury....Began the season with triple-A Sacramento and was recalled April 18, taking the place of RHP Jake Peavy....Was placed on the 15-day disabled list July 19 with a sprained right thumb, sustained in the previous night's game at Arizona after sliding into third base on a triple…an MRI revealed a sprain of the ligament and strained muscles…also had a partial ligament tear that kept him longer on the DL than the 15 days....Was activated from the DL Aug. 17 and appeared in 11 games with SF before being sidelined again with his wrist ailment....Traveled back to San Francisco Sept. 5 during the Giants' 10-game road trip to have his sore right wrist examined by the club's hand specialist…Susac's wrist has bothered him since spring training....Had arthroscopic surgery on his wrist to remove loose bodies and was placed on the 60-day disabled list Sept. 5 (retroactive to Sept. 4), ending his 2015 season.

2014

Spent the majority of the season at Triple-A Fresno (PCL All- Star - .268, 10 HRs, 32 RBI in 63 games), but had his contract purchased on July 26, marking his first big league call-up, with backup catcher Hector Sanchez going on the disabled list with a concussion...Batted .273 (24-for-88) with eight doubles, three home runs and 19 RBI in 35 games with San Francisco...Started 20 games behind the plate and batted .267 (20-for- 75) with three homers and 18 RBI as a starter...His 18 RBI were tied for the fifth-most among all NL rookies since his callup to the big leagues on July 26...Susac got his first major league hit on July 30, 2014 off Pittsburgh's Charlie Morton...however, he later played in the Sept. 1 continuation of the Giants at Rockies May 22 game (over three months earlier), which was delayed by rain, and due to MLB's record keeping rules May 22 is the date given for his official MLB debut...Susac singled to left field in the game and therefore May 22 is the official date for his first hit and run scored.

2013

Named an Eastern League mid-season All-Star...Limited to DH duties during Eastern League All-Star Game in New Britain, CT, due to injury...Missed 16 games from July 2-16 while on the DL (finger)...Was placed on the DL on Aug. 2 (shoulder impingement), and did not return to the Squirrels lineup the rest of the season...Enjoyed career-high hit-streak of 11 games (May 22-June 4)...Struggled at the pitcher-friendly Diamond, batting just .197 (23-117) at home, contrasted by .303 (44-145) on the road...Logged nine appearances at 1st base, the first appearances of his career there...Placed second in the Eastern League, catching 40% of base stealers (31-for-77)...Played for Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League and hit .360 (18-for-50) with a .507 OBP in 17 games…his .507 OBP was the best in the league, while his .360 batting average ranked seventh.

2012

In 2012, he played in 102 games for Class A Advanced San Jose and batted .244 (88-for-261) with nine home runs and 52 RBI in his first season of professional baseball...Threw out 32.1 pct. (42-of-131) of attempted base stealers, which ranked second among all catchers in the California League...Was placed on the disabled list from April 30-May 7 with a left hamstring strain...Received a four game suspension for fighting with Visalia left fielder Ryan LaPensee on May 19 at the end of the bottom of the second inning after a confrontation at home plate...Hit .333 (27-for-81) with 18 RBI during the month of Aug. in 23 games...Was a non-roster invitee to Giants spring camp for the first time.
