Season was limited to just 12 appearances due to a right elbow injury suffered in early May and did not pitch after May 3...Season got off to a strong start, allowing just one run (ER) over his first eight appearances, covering 8.0 innings...Allowed runs over each of his last four appearances (8R-ER/3.2IP) and was removed from his final appearance of May 3 vs. Toronto (game 1) after four batters and 12 pitches with a right elbow hyperextension/bone spurs...Progressed to throwing bullpens and live batting practice in Cleveland before transferring his rehab to Goodyear, AZ in early August ...Was shutdown on August 20 due to continued soreness in the elbow...For the year allowed runs in 5 of his 12 outings, striking out 12 over 11.2 innings...Allowed all four homers on the season over his last four outings, April 26-May 3 (3.2IP)...Batters hit just .167 (5-for-30) off him with runners on and .188 (3-for-16) with RISP...Underwent right elbow arthroscopic debridement on August 31 in Dallas, TX (Dr. Keith Meister)...Meister performed a debridement of elbow and removed a small bone spur...Expected to be ready for the 2019 season.
