Made 39 starts in RF and three as the DH in 2nd and final season with ARI¡his 51 games were fewest since 2013 due to three stints on the injured list. Underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee on 3/3 and opened the season on the IL¡was activated on 4/9 and batted .292 (14-48) in 13 games before suffering a torn left hamstring on 4/27 that required surgery on 4/30¡was moved from the 10-day to the 60-day IL on 5/5 before having a rehab assignment at Reno from 6/28-7/9¡returned to the Diamondbacks on 7/10 and hit .191 (17-89) in 23 G before returning to the IL on 8/12 with a left hamstring strain¡played at Reno on 9/16 and was activated the following day but hit just .222 (8-36) in final 15 contests¡went 0-for-10 in his final five games.

Named the D-backs' Most Valuable Player by the Arizona chapter of the BBWAA after leading the team in multiple offensive categories, including home runs (16), RBI (40), slugging pct. (.526) and OPS (.864)¡tied for the team lead in total bases (100) and runs scored (35)...Tied for third in the NL in home runs (also: 5 others) and tied for ninth in RBI (also: Didi Gregorius/PHI and Wil Myers/SD)...Named NL Player of the Week for Sept. 14-20, his first such honor, after hitting .458 (11-for-24) with 1 double, 6 homers and 12 RBI.

Finished seventh big league season with the Angels, hit 19 home runs, tied for the second most of career... Marked the fifth straight season tallying at least 15 home runs...Joined Tim Salmon (9 seasons) and Vlad Guerrero (5 seasons) as the only Angel right fielders to homer 15 times in at least five different seasons... 10 of 19 home runs came in the month of July...Only three Angels hit more in the month of July in franchise history: Trout 12 HR in July, 2015, Juan Rivera 11 HR in July 2006 and Don Baylor 11 HR in July, 1979...After opening the season batting .145 in first 50 games, went on the D.L. with a right oblique strain...Returned from the D.L.
