Full name is Reginald Kristen McClain¡began his collegiate career at the University of Georgia (2012-13), later transferring to the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota for the 2014 season¡prior to the 2015 season, transferred to the University of Missouri¡in two seasons at Missouri (2015-16), went 12-11 with a 3.61 ERA (202.0IP, 81ER) with 174K in 29 starts¡as a redshirt senior in 2016, allowed just 0.80BB/9.0IP, fourth best in the nation¡graduated from Northview High School (Ga).
2020
Made his first career Opening Day roster and had a 5.06 ERA (5.1IP, 3ER) in five relief appearances without recording a decision with the Phillies¡was placed on the 10-day injured list on 8/6 (retroactive to 8/3) with a right shoulder impingement¡was reinstated from the I.L. on 8/20¡was designated for assignment on 8/31 and outrighted to the Phillies¡¯ Alternate Site on 9/3, remaining there for the rest of the season.

Shuttled between Modesto (A), Arkansas (AA) and Tacoma (AAA) for the majority of the season...Posted a 2.23 ERA (18 ER, 72.2 IP) with 72 SO to 22 BB in 29 combined minor league games (3 GS)...Had his contract selected by SEA on 8/2 and made his ML debut that night at HOU ...Posted a 33.00 ERA (11 ER, 3.0 IP) in 3 appearances at Minute Maid Park and a 1.50 ERA (3 ER, 18.0 IP) in his other 11 games.

Pitched the entire season with Single-A Modesto, going 6-11 with a 5.01 ERA (133.0IP, 74ER) with 108K in 24 games (23 starts)¡in his only relief appearance of the season, tossed 6.0 shutout innings on 9/2 at San Jose (3H, 1BB, 4K).
2017
Spent the season with Single-A Modesto, going 12-9 with a 4.75 ERA (153.1IP, 81ER) with 127K in 27 starts¡led all Mariners farmhands in wins and strikeouts¡led the California League in wins and innings pitched, tied for second in starts, fourth in WHIP (1.30) and seventh in strikeouts¡tied his minor league career high with 10K in 5/5 start vs. Lake Elsinore¡tossed his first career complete game on 6/29 vs. Visalia, earning the win and only allowing 1ER in 9.0IP (6H, 0BB, 9K)¡was named a California League Mid-Season All-Star with Modesto.

Made his professional debut with Single-A Everett¡compiled a minor league career-high 10K in only 4.0IP in 7/17 start at Hillsboro¡finished tied for eighth in the Northwest League in strikeouts (55).
