Played college baseball at the University of California-San Bernardino posting a 10-11 record over three seasons. Left the school as the all-time innings pitched leader with 247.1, including a start where he pitched 10 innings vs. CSU-Stanislaus... Ranked third in NCAA Division I in walks/9 IP in 2011... Is an avid fisherman... He and his wife, Whitney, have a son, Westin, and a daughter, Monroe... Resides in Manhattan, Kan.

2022

Signed by the Cardinals as a minor league free agent on Jan. 27 and was selected to the Major League roster on March 25... Made his Cardinals' debut on April 10 vs. PIT, marking his first MLB appearance since Sept. 25, 2019... Made five appearances for the big league club (all in relief), owning a 7.71 ERA (8 ER, 9.1 IP) with three home runs allowed... he fanned seven and allowed two walks... Brooks was designated for assignment on May 2, and he cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Memphis on May 5... Made 15 appearances (13 starts) for a 5.56 ERA (43 ER, 69.2 IP) with the Redbirds...he went 5-4 overall, and opponents hit .296 (81-for-274) with 54 strikeouts against 20 walks through his final appearance on Aug. 27 vs. Charlotte.

2021

Started 13 games for Kia in the KBO under manager Matt Williams, former Major League third baseman... Missed nearly one month (June 2-30) due to a flexor strain suffered in a start at Hanwha (6/1). Returned and made two starts before the Olympic Break, holding his opposition to one run in each of the two starts... Ran off 16.0 innings without allowing an earned run (4/14- 25)... Struck out a season-high nine batters at KT Wiz (5/1) over 6.0 innings in a 3-0 loss... Surrendered a season-high 13 hits vs. Doosan (5/8).

2016

Aaron missed nearly the entire season with a right hip contusion ... was originally placed on the 15-day disabled list, March 25...Was sent on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Iowa, June 11, appearing in five games (four starts) ... he posted a 7.71 ERA (14 ER/16.1 IP) with 12 strikeouts from June 11-July 4 ... was transferred to the 60-day disabled list August 19 for the remainder of the season.

2015

Began the season in the Kansas City organization and posted a 6.23 ERA in two relief appearances over four stints with the Royals … was traded to the A's with minor league pitcher Sean Manaea on July 28 for Ben Zobrist and cash considerations, and went 3-4 with a 6.71 ERA in 11 games, including nine starts, with the A's. Tossed five quality starts with the Athletics, including collecting his first major league win, August 1 vs. Cleveland ... allowed just five hits and one run in a career-high 7.1 innings in Oakland's 5-1 triumph ... also tossed 7.0 innings in his next start, August 6 vs. Houston. Went 1-1 with a 4.32 ERA (8 ER/16.2 IP) over his final three outings (two starts) of the season with Oakland. Spent majority of the season with Triple-A Omaha in the Royals organization, appearing in 18 games (17 starts) ... went 6-5 with a complete game and a 3.71 ERA (44 ER/106.2 IP) ... struck out 92 batters and walked 21. Between Omaha and Triple-A Nashville (Oakland) went 7-5 with a 3.56 ERA (47 ER/118.2 IP) in 20 games, including 19 starts. In the minors issued just 21 walks in 118.2 innings, an average of 1.59 walks per nine innings … allowed a .275 opponents batting average, including .254 (54-for-213) against left-handed hitters compared to .294 (73-for-248) against right-handers. Went 4-1 with a 2.95 ERA over a seven-start span with Triple-A Omaha following a one-day stint with the Royals April 26. At the time of the July 28 trade to the A's, he ranked fourth in the Pacific Coast League in strikeouts (92) and tied for eighth in innings pitched (106.2).

2014

Aaron had two stints with the Royals, but pitched a majority of the season at Triple-A Omaha...Made his Major League debut on May 3, pitching 2.0 innings of relief vs. Detroit…He also made his first Major League start May 31 at Toronto, taking the loss after tossing the first 2/3 of an inning...Tabbed Omaha Pitcher of the Year, tying for second in the Pacific Coast League with 12 victories and ranking seventh in ERA (3.88) and 14th in innings pitched (139.0)...Tossed a two-hit shutout in the Pacific Coast League Championship-clinching game, defeating Reno, 4-0...Named PCL Postseason MVP, going 3-0 with an 0.75 ERA (2 ER in 24.0 IP) with three walks and 24 strikeouts in three playoff starts...Posted a 5-0 record and a 3.66 ERA over his final six starts of the year…he also went 4-0 with a 2.13 ERA (6 ER in 25.1 IP) over five starts in May.

2013

Named Northwest Arkansas (AA) Pitcher of the Year after splitting the season between the Naturals and Wilmington (A-Advanced)...promoted to Double-A on June 1...Tossed one of only six 9.0-inning shutouts in the Texas League, blanking Arkansas (7-0) on July 24...named league's Pitcher of the Week on July 29...Allowed just 11 walks in 103.2 innings with the Naturals (0.95 BB/9 IP), fewest in the Texas League among hurlers that recorded at least 100.0 innings.
