Spencer Burdette Patton… married to the former Jiletta Stine (10/01/11), and they have three children: Bruer (09/02/14), Bode (09/07/16) and Palmer (04/09/18)…pitched three seasons at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a career record of 13-10 in 36 games/30 starts…fanned 201 in 172.2 innings…was 9-3 with a 2.55 ERA in 2011…had second most strikeouts (109) and third most wins in a season in school history…was the Rawlings Division I Gold Glove winner as a pitcher that season…missed most of 2010 season with a knee injury…earned Co-Player of the Year honors in the Coastal Plains Summer League in 2009…attended Parkland College in Champaign, IL, earning an associate degree in science in 2008…lettered four times in baseball and three in basketball at South Central High, in Farina, IL (graduated 2006)…was third team all-state in basketball and baseball MVP in senior year.

Went 3-2, 4.92 in 57 G/1 GS, but had a 3.83 ERA (22 ER/51.2 IP) over 56 relief appearances…ranked 6th among qualifying Central League relievers with 10.97 SO/9…nearly one-quarter of his ER allowed for the year came in his lone career NPB start on 9/3 at Yomiuri (1.1 IP, 7 H, 9 R-7 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO)…had 17 games finished, his most in any season in Japan…his 19 holds were T7th in the CL…opponents batted .268/.357/.407, but hit .327 (16-49) with RISP…allowed two of 10 IR to score…finished with a 3.07 ERA (10 ER/29.1 IP) in 30 home games…posted 19 straight scoreless relief outings from 8/27-10/13 (18.0 SHO IP)…permitted runs in three straight outings to end the season (6 R-ER/3.0 IP).

2019

Saw fewest innings and highest ERA (5.15) for any of his 4 seasons in NPB…still ranked 6th in CL with 11.05 SO/9, right behind 5th-place Joely Rodriguez (11.49 for Chunichi)…had regular season cut short, as he did not pitch when injured following his exit from appearance on 8/3 vs. Yomiuri (0.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R-ER)…pitched 0.1 scoreless inning in his lone postseason appearance on 10/6 vs. Hanshin, as Bay Stars lost in Climax Series, 2-games-to-1.

2018

Posted 2.57 ERA with 33 holds and 67 K’s , his best in any season with BayStars…recorded 33 holds (3rd in NPB) and 67 K’s (T7th among NPB relievers), his best figures in any season in Japan…ranked 5th in CL and 8th among NPB relievers with 10.77 SO/9…stranded all 8 inherited runners…did not allow multiple runs in any of his final 45 appearances beg. 5/12, posting a 1.81 ERA (9 ER/44.2 IP) over that season-ending span.

2017

Career-best 62 appearances in his 1st season in Japan…went 7-for-13 in save chances, accounting for each of his 7 career saves in NPB…posted 27 holds and 13 games finished…made 11 postseason appearances for Yokohama, allowing just one unearned run over 8.2 IP…Bay Stars lost Japan Series to Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, as Patton appeared in 5 of the 6 contests in the final series.

2016

Was 1-1, 5.48 over 16 relief outings with eventual World Series-champion Cubs…had 5 ML stints: 5/5-7, 6/21- 7/20, 8/1, 8/17-30, 9/6-end of season…most recent U.S. outing was 9/24/16 vs. STL…spent balance of season at Iowa (AAA), posting 0.75 ERA (3 ER/36.0 IP) with team-high 11 saves and no HR allowed in 35 G, adding 1.00 WHIP…was not on Cubs postseason roster for any round…career-high 3.2 IP on 7/3 at NYM (81 pitches), his longest outing since 7/15/13 w/ Wilmington (A) in KC system…career-high 4 K’s, 7/7 vs. ATL… Triple-A opponents batted just .169 (21-124), and he posted 17.0 SHO IP over his final 16 appearances with Iowa…released from roster on 11/17 and given unconditional release on 11/21, then signed with Yokohama on 11/23.

2015

Spencer Patton split the season between the Rangers and Triple-A Round Rock, beginning the campaign in the minors ... all told, was 1-1 with a 9.00 ERA (24 ER/24.0 IP) in 27 relief appearances for Texas ... was 2-0 with 11 saves and a 1.67 ERA (5 ER/27.0 IP) in 26 Triple-A outings. Was recalled to Texas, May 4, and appeared in two games (3 ER/3.0 IP) before he was optioned back to Round Rock, May 14 ... was up again with the big league club, June 7-11 and June 25-August 27. Had a 3.21 ERA (5 ER/14.0 IP) in 13 road games ... posted a 17.10 ERA (19 ER/10.0 IP) in 14 outings at Globe Life Park. Opponents had a .143 average (6-for-42) with none on base ... had a .360 average (9-for-25) with runners in scoring position. Pitched to a 1.23 ERA (1 ER/7.1 IP) in an eight-game span, July 7-25 ... walked three and struck out seven in that stretch. With Round Rock, was 11-for-11 in save opportunities ... allowed just one home run in 27.0 innings, and held opponents to a .206 average (21-for-102) ... walked nine and struck out 36. Surrendered just two earned runs in his first 23 appearances for Round Rock, spanning 24.0 innings (0.75 ERA).

2014

Combined to go 5-4, 3.90 (27 ER/62.1 IP) with 18 saves in 49 relief appearances in the Pacific Coast League for Omaha and Round Rock...finished the game in 40 of his 49 outings...averaged 12.3 strikeouts-per-9-innings and compiled a 1.075 WHIP...opponents hit just .188 (42-223)...went 4-3, 4.08 (21 ER/46.1 IP) with 14 saves in 34 games with Omaha before 7/16 trade to Texas...after being traded earlier in the day, pitched in the Triple-A All-Star Game in Durham, fanning only batter faced...including final 3 games with Omaha, allowed just one run over 17.2 IP spanning 15 appearances from 7/7-8/23 (3 BB/28 SO)...was 1-1, 3.38 (6 ER/16.0 IP) in 15 outings with Round Rock, just one HR allowed...recorded more than 3 outs just twice for Round Rock, but did it 18 times for Omaha.

2013

Posted career lows with 1.020 WHIP and 1.86 ERA (17 ER/82.1 IP) over 37 games/2 starts for Wilmington (High-A) and NW Arkansas (AA)...opponents hit .201 (58-289)...allowed 2 runs in his Double-A debut on 7/27 at Springfield, but permitted just 2 R/1 ER in final 11 outings and 17.0 innings to finish the season...pitched for Los Mochis in the Mexican Winter League, going 2-1 with 10 saves and a 0.72 ERA (2 ER/25.0 IP) over 20 relief outings...last 11 outings in winter ball: 14.1 IP, 0 R, opponents 3-for-45 (.067).

2012

Spent 2nd straight year with Idaho Falls, losing all 7 decisions over 16 games/8 starts...ranked 2nd in the league in strikeouts (84) despite spending half the season in bullpen...opened the season with 8 starts, going 0-6, 7.61...in his 8 relief outings, was 0-1, 3.98.

2011

Saw first professional action with Idaho Falls, including his pro debut on 6/20 vs. Ogden in his club's 20-0 defeat (0.2 IP, 1 SO).
