Spent first season in the Indians organization, and was an effective starter for the club in May before a shoulder injury forced him to the injured list for three months, June 2-Sept. 5...Enjoyed four stints on the active roster, April 13, April 24, May 7-June 1 and Sept. 6 thru the end of the season...Began the year in AAA Columbus out of Spring Training, making three starts for the Clippers around his two stints in Cleveland (4.96 ERA, 16.1IP, 12H, 9R/ER, 8BB, 14SO)...Made his Indians debut on April 13 at Kansas City, taking the loss in KC's 3-0 win (5.2IP, 5H, 2RE/ER)...Enjoyed his finest Major League outing in his second start on April 24 vs. Miami, working a career-long 7.0 innings (3H, 1R/ER, 2BB, 3SO)...The right-hander posted a 2.92 ERA (8ER/24.2IP) over his first 4 starts with the Tribe, April 13-May 12, before going 0-3 with a 7.11 ERA over his final four starts (15ER/19.0IP)...Picked up his lone win at Oakland on May 12 (6.0IP, 6H, 3ER)... Went 4-3 with a 3.32 ERA in 12 games (10 starts) for Single-A Potomac... Left-handed batters hit just .175 with a .283 on-base percentage and a .213 slugging percentage against him (14-for-80, 3 2B, 23 SO)...Finished the season strong, posting a 2.81 ERA (5 ER/16.0 IP) with a .196 opponent batting average (10-for-51) in his final five games/three starts...Improved his WHIP (1.11), hits per 9.0 IP (6.9), strikeouts per 9.0 IP (8.1), walks per 9.0 IP (3.0) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.68) during the 2017 season as compared to 2016, with all numbers proving better than his career numbers.
