Trevor Brown

Graduated from Hart High School (Valencia, CA)....Played college ball at UCLA and was drafted by the Giants in the 10th round of the 2012 draft....Played mostly infield at college, estimating about 75 percent infield and 25 percent at catcher.

2017

Missed time in spring with a sprained right ankle and started the season on the 10-day disabled list ... Played in three rehab games with triple-A Sacramento from April 18-20 and was reinstated off the DL April 21 (optioned to AAA) ... Spent the entire season with Sacramento hitting .163 with five extra-base hits and nine RBI ... Was placed on the seven-day disabled list from June 29-July 13.

2016

Made the team out of spring training and spent the entire year as the backup to Buster Posey...Made 40 starts, with the team going 15-25 in those games...Threw out seven of 31 attempted base stealers...Went 3-for-17 (.176) with a double, two RBI and two walks as a pinch-hitter...Hit his first career home run on April 8 off Dodgers RHP Chris Hatcher…broke up a no-hit bid with his first career homer, a two-run blast that came moments after Ross Stripling was removed with a no-hitter...Slugged two home runs in the Giants' win at Coors Field on April 12...Hit three home runs in his first eight at-bats of the season...Became first Giants rookie to hit three HRs over his first three games of a season since Bobby Thomson in 1947...also became the first Giant to HR for his first three hits in a season since Kevin Mitchell in 1991...Played third base for the first time in his professional career on June 28 vs. Oakland…entered the game in the bottom of the eighth inning as a pinch-hitter and stayed in the game as the third baseman

2015

Brown was a late Sept. call-up that provided depth at catcher to help limit the wear-and-tear on Buster Posey behind the plate....Had his contract purchased from triple-A Sept. 16 and batted .231 with five RBI in 13 games (12 starts) for San Francisco....Recorded his first big league hit Sept. 22 at San Diego, hitting a double off RHP Tyson Ross....Started 12 of the Giants' final 17 games behind the plate and had a catchers ERA of 4.25 (51 ER, 108 IP)....Hit .261 (74-for-283) with 35 runs, 17 doubles, two homers and 27 RBI in 82 games for Triple-A Sacramento.
