Was born in Las Tunas, Cuba, which is in the central-eastern portion of the country. It’s known in Cuba as the “City of Sculpture” due to several art installations in the city’s center. Pitched for Las Tunas in the Cuban National Series from 2011-15 where he was 19-27 with a 4.00 ERA in 75 games (62 starts).

2022

Made only three appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City before being placed on the IL and eventually undergoing Tommy John surgery... Underwent his Tommy John surgery in Los Angeles on April 26...the surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache... Was DFA’ed by Los Angeles on April 24 and later claimed by the Giants on April 27... Was designated for assignment by SF on April 29 but he re-signed with the Giants on a Minor League deal on May 4.

2021

Made stops at Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City before making his Major League debut with the Dodgers on July 9 against Arizona... Appeared in just one game for Double-A Tulsa, pitching a scoreless inning of relief with three strikeouts and two hits... Spent 31 total games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, garnering a perfect 7-0 record over 31 games (one start) with a 2.42 ERA (14 ER/52.0 IP) and 0.96 WHIP…fanned 80 batters and walked just 20 while limiting the opposition to a .168 batting average... Held a 3-0 record over 17 appearances on the road with Oklahoma City, registering 45 strikeouts against 18 walks... Named a 2021 MiLB.com Organizational All-Star and was awarded AAA West Pitcher of the Week in May... In his big league debut, the lefty struck out three batters and allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit (home run)…took the loss in the matchup... Garnered a 0-1 record with 8.22 ERA (7 ER/7.2 IP) in six Major League contests…fanned eight batters and walked four to produce a 1.57 WHIP…held his Major League opposition to a .276/.364/.655 slash line.
