Born in Stony Brook, NY which is located in Suffolk County on the north shore of Long Island...Grew up in Long Island, New York with his mother, father and three younger sisters. His father is retired after a long career at UPS, and now owns a small irrigation company...Grew up a Mets fan but his favorite player was Derek Jeter...Is classified as being drafted out of St. John the Baptist High School in West Islip, NY but he never actually pitched there...He wasn¡¯t allowed to pitch at St. John the Baptist after transferring because the transfer cost him his senior year of eligibility. Instead, he pitched for the Long Island Black Sox in a local men¡¯s league facing hitters who had either played collegiately or in some cases, professionally. Passed on his commitment to San Jacinto College to sign with Texas.

Appeared in six games (two starts) for Triple-A Round Rock and posted a 1-2 record with a 13.50 ERA... Allowed a .387 opponents average... Was placed on the minor league seven-day injured list in July with a serratus anterior strain.
2020
After he was briefly available out of the bullpen to open the year, Palumbo missed the majority of the 2020 campaign due to an ulcerative colitis flare-up¡was on the 10-day Injured List from 8/4-end of season¡the issue was under control through the offseason, and he was expected to have normal preparation ahead of Spring Training.
2019
Made his Major League debut in June and had 5 stints with the club: June 8, June 19, July 7, August 20, and Sept. 15-end of season... totaled 96.2 IP between Texas and the minor leagues in 2019, besting his previous career high of 96.1 IP with Hickory (A) in 2016…took a no decision in his MLB debut on 6/8 vs. OAK-D (ND, 4.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R-ER, 0 BB, 4 SO, 1 HR, 66 pitches/43 strikes) a 10-5 Texas win...was optioned to Frisco (AA) following the game, his 1st career outing above the Double-A level…was added to the roster as the 26th man for a doubleheader on 8/20 vs. LAA and departed the day game with a blister on his left thumb…was returned to Nashville (AAA) following the doubleheader and placed on the 7-day injured list with the blister issue…rehabbed with Rangers during the beginning of September and was recalled on 9/15 for his 5th and final stint with the club…allowed 3 R-ER in 6.0 IP over 3 G/1 GS in September…all 3 runs allowed came on 3 solo HR in final start on 9/27 vs. NYY (3 R-ER/3.0 IP)…also whiffed a career-best 7 in that start…opponents batted .300/.388/.686/1.073…averaged 11.34 SO/9…was 0-3, 14.34 (17 ER/10.2 IP) as a starter and had 6.0 SHOIP as a reliever.
MINORS: Went 3-0 with a 3.01 ERA (27 ER/80.2 IP) in 17 G/16 GS between Frisco (AA) and Nashville (AAA), also 1.13 WHIP, 12.05 SO/9, 3.90 BB/9, 1.00 HR/9…108 SO in 2019 were most since career-high 122 w/ HIC in 2016...induced season-high 20 swinging strikes in 10-strikeout performance on 7/1 vs. OKC w/ NAS, most whiffs since 22 on 8/14/18 vs. CAR w/ DE…named Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week for 8/12-18 after posting 6.0 no-hit frames in the Sounds' 4-2 victory on 8/15 vs. OMA, his final minor league start of the season...rated by Baseball America as Texas' 8th-best prospect entering the season.

Spent early portion of the season on the disabled list while recovering from 'Tommy John' surgery...began rehab assignment with AZL Rangers on 6/24, posting a 0.67 WHIP in 3 G/GS...allowed 2-or-fewer ER in 9 of 11 starts...in last 4 G/GS between Down East and Frisco, went 2-0 with a 0.92 ERA (2 ER/19.2 IP) and 6 BB/30 SO...opponents slashed .149/.240/.162/.404 with one XBH (2B) in that span...notched career-high 11 SO on 8/7 vs. Buies Creek (5.0 SHO IP, 2 H, 0 BB)...earned the win in Frisco debut on 8/22 at San Antonio (5.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R-ER, 1 BB, 8 SO)...right-handed batters posted .454 OPS compared to .960 OPS mark by lefties.

Entered the season as the club's 9th-best prospect, but was limited to just 3 starts at Down East before undergoing season-ending 'Tommy John' ligament transplant surgery on 4/26…held opponents to a .087/.160/.130/.290 (4-46) slash line in the 3 outings with the Wood Ducks…whiffed 22 of 50 (44.0%) batters faced…had a career-best 10 strikeouts in his penultimate start on 4/12 vs. Winston-Salem.

Ranked 2nd among Texas farmhands and 13th in the South Atlantic League with 122 strikeouts despite logging the majority of his innings in a relief role…tabbed the 19th-best prospect in the SAL by Baseball America…tied for 3rd among Texas minor leaguers in saves, converting 8 of 11 save chances… was 6-3, 2.16 (14 ER/58.1 IP) as a reliever and 1-2, 2.37 (10 ER/38.0 IP) as a starter…opponents batted .202 (71-352), ncluding .149 (14-94) with 5 XBH (3 2B, 2 HR) and 37 strikeouts by left-handed hitters…compiled a 3.25 ERA (10 ER/27.2 IP) over his 1st 13 relief appearances before posting a 1.17 ERA (4 ER/30.2 IP) in his next 13 relief outings…joined the Hickory rotation on 7/23 and allowed 2 runs-or-less in 6 of 7 starts…did not allow an earned run in 17.0 innings over his final 3 starts with opponents batting .121 (7-58).

Fell 6.0 innings shy of qualifying for league leader status, but had the 3rd-lowest ERA in the Northwest League among pitchers with at least 54.0 innings…was 2-3, 2.53 (12 ER/42.2 IP) as a starter and 1-0, 3.86 (5 ER/11.2 IP) as a reliever…permitted 3 ER-or-less in all 9 starts, including zero-or-one ER in 6 outings…promoted to Hickory on 9/7 and made a spot start in the club's season finale (4.1 IP, 3 R-ER).

Earned a spot on the AZL Postseason All-Star Team, compiling a 2.00 ERA (4 ER/18.0 IP) with 23 strikeouts over 7 relief appearances…was 1-3, 2.55 (7 ER/24.2 IP) in 7 starts… held opponents to a .190 average (29-153), including .178 (8-45) by left-handed batters.
