Name is pronounced “buh-COW-skus”...The initials “JB” simply stands for Jacob Bukauskas...adopted the nickname in Little League when there were three kids named Jacob on his team...Is married...wife’s name is Sydney...the couple has a son named Baylor...Graduated from Stone Bridge (VA) High School...went 21-3 with a 0.88 ERA in his three-year career...threw a no-hitter in his first high school outing...Attended the University of North Carolina, where he played three seasons (2015-17) and went 21-6 with a 3.18 ERA...was teammates and roommates with Zac Gallen, who is now a pitcher with the Arizona Diamondbacks...Was named 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year and was a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award...Enjoys hiking, the outdoors and spending time with his family.

2023

Was claimed off waivers by Seattle from Arizona on 1/17...Made four relief appearances at Triple-A Tacoma and one with Seattle (4/9 at Cleveland)...Was designated for assignment by Seattle on 4/13 and claimed off waivers by Milwaukee on 4/18...Did not surrender a run in five relief appearances with Milwaukee (6ip, 4h, 0r, 1bb, 6k)...Had four stints with the team (5/16-5/19, 7/1-7/4, 8/28-9/1 and 9/20-9/26)...Was on the 15-day injured list from 5/20-6/11, retroactive to 5/17, with a cervical strain and again from 9/27 through the remainder of the season, retroactive to 9/25, with a right ring finger tendon injury...Went 5-2 with a 2.92 ERA and six saves in 32 relief appearances at Triple-A Nashville.

2022

Went 0-1 with a 2.66 ERA and 1 save in 21 relief appearances at Triple-A Reno...Was on the 60-day injured list from 3/23-7/19 with a right shoulder strain...Following the season pitched for the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League (1g).

2021

Was 2-2 with a 7.79 ERA (15 ER in 17.1 IP) in 21 games in his first Major League season... On April 20 @ Reds, was the first pitcher since Josh Ravin/LAD on June 2, 2015 [GM 2] @ Coors Field to pick up a win in his Major League debut with just one batter faced... On 10-day injured list from May 15-June 30 (strained right elbow flexor)... Made 13 appearances with Triple-A Reno (0-2, 4.26 ERA).

2020

Spent the entire season at the D-backs' Alternate Training Site...Spent the majority of the season with Double-A Corpus Christi (Astros) before being acquired by Arizona…went 2-5 with a 5.44 ERA (56 ER in 92.2 IP) in 22 games (16 starts) between Corpus Christi and Double-A Jackson (D-backs)...Did not pitch after Aug. 10 due to right elbow inflammation.

2018

Had a breakout season in the minors, b\pitching to a 4-2 record with a 2.14 ERA (14ER/59IP) with 71 strikeouts and 24 walks in 14 starts across five levels in Houston's system...made two starts in April at Class A Quad Cities before getting sidelined with an injury... did not pitch again until June 29, when he made a start for the GCL Astros...moved up to Tri-City, where he posted 8.1 scoreless innings across three outings... was bumped back up to Quad Cities and made two starts in July before receiving a promotion to Class A Advanced Buies Creek...posted a 1.61 ERA (5ER/28IP) with 31 strikeouts in five starts with Buies Creek...moved up to Double A Corpus Christi for his final start of the season on Sept. 2 and threw 6.0 scoreless innings of one-hit ball...made one start for the Hooks in the playoffs, allowing one run on three hits over 6.0 innings pitched...pitched for Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League, going 2-1 with a 3.33 ERA (9ER/24.1IP) and 24 strikeouts in six starts.
