Married to Alyssa, who competed in the high jump at Texas A&M...Has two children: Braxton and Sage...Grew up in Hempstead, Texas, approx. 50 miles northwest of downtown Houston...The town is famous for its watermelon crop, and until the 1940s, the town was the top shipper of watermelons in the United States...Hempstead still holds an annual Watermelon Festival in July that draws more than 5,000 people...Earned All-Cape Cod League recognition with Falmouth in 2016 after posting a 1.14 ERA with six saves in 14 appearances...Made 16 appearances for Matsu of the Alaska Baseball League in 2015 and was 1-1 with a 0.00 ERA (21.2 IP) and 27 strikeouts...Played three seasons at Texas A&M University (2015-17), going 11-5 with a 4.01 ERA and 149 strikeouts in 54 games (16 starts)...Led the Aggies to their sixth College World Series berth in 2017, earning the win in their Super-Regional-clinching tilt vs. Davidson.

Did not pitch in the regular season due to injury (right lat tendon avulsion). In five games in relief during Spring Training, owned a 3.18 ERA (two ER in 5.2 IP with nine strikeouts before being placed on the injured list on March 27.

Went 0-1 with a 4.84 ERA (12 ER in 22.1 IP) in 7 games (two starts) over two stints in his second season with the D-backs....Allowed two earned runs or less in five of his seven games... In 17 starts for Triple-A Reno, went 6-7 with a 6.08 ERA (52 ER in 77.0 IP).

Made five appearances (3 starts) in his first season with the D-backs, going 0-3 with a 10.69 ERA (19 ER in 16.0 IP)... Start on May 18 @ Dodgers was his first appearance in the Majors since June 3, 2019, @ Mariners (w/Astros)... Was 2-0 with a 5.93 ERA (18 ER in 27.1 IP) in 6 starts with Triple-A Reno... Spent the entire season at the D-backs' Alternate Training Site...Placed on the 10-day injured list on July 22 (retro to July 20) while recovering from Tommy John surgery and transferred to the 60-day list on Sept. 25 due to strained left oblique.

Had an All-Star campaign in what was his second professional season...combined to go 9-2 with a 2.51 ERA (34ER/122IP) in 25 games (21 starts) between Corpus Christi (21g) and Class A Buies Creek (4g)...began his season at Buies Creek, making four appearances before being promoted to Double A...shined with the Hooks, earning Midseason and Postseason Texas League All-Star honors...pitched 1.0 scoreless inning in the Texas League All-Star Game... made one postseason start, tossing 5.2 scoreless innings en route to earning the win.
