Spent most of the season in Corpus Christi on the Astros' alternate training site roster, but in his Major League debut made five apps in relief from 7/26-8/14...After he was optioned to the alternate training site on 8/15, traveled with the team on every road trip as part of the Astros' taxi squad...Went to Major League spring training camp with the Orioles, but on 3/6 the December 2019 Rule 5 draftee was returned to the Astros and sent to minor league camp...Made his first career Opening Day roster in his first action above Class AA...Threw a scoreless ninth inning in his Major League debut, a 7-6 Astros loss to Sea on 7/26 (1ip, 2h, 13pch)...Recorded his first career strikeout on 8/9 at Oak (Tony Kemp)...Following the season, on 11/20, was traded to the Reds for cash.

Spent the entire season at Double-A Corpus Christi in the Houston Astros system, making 17 starts (22 appearances) for the Hooks and going 4-5 with a 3.30 ERA (34 ER/92.2 IP) and 103 strikeouts...Led Corpus Christi in innings pitched, and finished second in starts and strikeouts...Struck out multiple batters in all 22 games, including a season-high nine on 8/14 vs. Frisco...Posted a 2.52 ERA (11 ER/39.1 IP) in eight second-half starts (nine games)...Held left-handed batters to a .191 (31-for-162) opponents batting average...Held opponents to a .172 (10-for-58) batting average with runners in scoring position...Selected No. 2 overall by the Orioles in the Rule 5 Draft from the Houston Astros on 12/12.
