Got the first Major League action of his career, splitting his season between SD and El Paso (AAA) before being designated for assignment in July... Called up twice to the Padres (April 23 & May 29) and made a total of five relief appearances, going 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA (2 ER, 8.0 IP) with a .192 opp. AVG but 9.00 BB/9 (8/8.0 IP)... Made his ML debut on April 24 @ LAD with 2.0 scoreless IP in SD¡¯s 5-4 defeat... Earned his 1st ML victory in his 3rd career outing on April 28 @ ARI (1.0 IP, 2 H, ER, HR, SO)... In his next outing on May 2 vs. SF, he did not allow a hit but issued five walks, just the 6th time an SD reliever has issued 5 walks-or-more in a single outing since 2000... Tossed 2.0 innings in three of his five big league appearances... Went 0-2 with one save and an 8.10 ERA in his 13 relief appearances for the Chihuahuas... Relied on 4 pitches: Sinker (67%), Changeup (14%), Slider (13%) and 4-Seam Fastball (6%).

2019
Returned in 2019 from a two-year absence due to elbow and nerve injuries to appear in 31 games in Seattle's system, going 1-2 with a 2.03 ERA (40.0 ip/9 er)...He posted a 0.93 WHIP and .176 average against, striking out 39 batters...It was his first action since August 4, 2016 with Triple-A El Paso in San Diego's system. Finished the season on the disabled list with right elbow inflammation. Was a combined 7-3 with a 4.07 ERA (90.2/41) at the time of the injury.
2014
Split the 2014 season between Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett, posting a combined 7-10 record with a 4.70 ERA in 26 games, 24 starts...Began the season with the Double-A Mississippi Braves, where he was named a Southern League Midseason All-Star after he went 7-3 with a 2.88 ERA (21 ER, 65.2 IP) and 62 strikeouts against 24 walks in 13 games, 12 starts...Promoted to Gwinnett on June 24 for his first career Triple-A stint and went 0-7 with a 6.54 ERA (47 ER, 64.2 IP) and 51 strikeouts against 31 walks in 13 games, 12 starts...Following the season, appeared in six games, all starts, for Peoria of the Arizona Fall League, going 2-3 with a 2.42 ERA (22.1/6) and 14 strikeouts against nine walks

His 26 starts paced the Mississippi (AA) staff, while his eight victories were tied for second-most among Mississippi hurlers, one off the team lead. Led Mississippi in innings pitched (137.0), while posting the second-most strikeouts with 121. Tossed a season-high 7.0 innings on three different occasions, including a 7.0-inning, one-run effort on 4/15, when he allowed two hits and recorded six strikeouts. Logged a season-high eight strikeouts in his first outing of the year on 4/4. Ended the season with a five-game winning streak, going 5-0 with a 1.94 ERA (10 ER/46.1 IP) in his last eight starts. Entered 2013 as the number 30 prospect in the Braves' organization as ranked by Baseball America. His 160 strikeouts and 9.49 strikeouts per 9.0 innings led the Carolina League. He ranked second in the league with a .247 batting average against for starting pitchers. Tied for first in the CL in starts (27), ranked third in innings pitched (151.2) and tied for fourth in wins (10). Garnered Carolina League Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of 6/18-24 after tossing a 7.0-inning complete-game shutout, striking out 10 and walking two. Went 3-0 with a 1.41 ERA and two complete games in five starts during the month of June, but went 2-7 with a 5.80 ERA in a combined 11 starts in May and July. Despite a rough month of July, struck out 36 batters and only walked five during the month. Won four consecutive decisions in a five-start span from 6/9-7/4 before losing seven consecutive decisions in an eight-start span from 7/9-8/17. Tossed 6.0 one-run innings on 8/28 at Winston-Salem to pick up his first win since 7/4, breaking a streak of nine winless starts.
