Graduated from CD Hylton High School in Woodbridge, Va. in 2013...went 6-2 with a 1.57 ERA and 59 strikeouts in his senior season, while also batting .395...was a 2013 First Team All-Atlantic Region selection by Perfect Game...named the AllArea Player of the Year and Northwest Region Player of the Year in 2012, his junior season...Played three seasons at High Point University (2014- 16)...went 6-1 with a 2.50 ERA as a sophomore, and 8-6 with a 4.86 ERA and a team-high 94 strikeouts as a junior...during the 2015 Big South Tournament, his sophomore season, led High Point to a victory in their first game with a 10-strikeout complete game...Andre is one of six siblings, the family consisting of five brothers and one sister...his mother, Amy, is an Army veteran...Selected by the Dodgers in the eighth round of the 2016 Draft...signed by Dodgers scout Lon Joyce...After spending parts of four minor league seasons in the Dodgers system, the Astros acquired Scrubb on July 25, 2019, in exchange for IF Tyler White...White finished that season with the Dodgers but was released prior to the 2020 campaign...Added to the Astros 40-man roster on July 28, 2020, in time for the Astros fifth game of the season...spent the remainder of the season in Houston, accruing one full year of service.

2020

Made his MLB debut with the Astros, pitching to a 1.93 ERA in 20 relief appearances...did not make the OPENING DAY roster, but was selected to the Major Leagues five days into the season...Stranded 13-of-15 inherited runners...ranked sixth in the AL in inherited runners scored perc. (13.3%)...His curveball averaged 9.9 inches of vertical movement, per Statcast, which ranked as the fifth-most in the Majors for a curveball...the only pitchers to generate more vertical drop on their curveballs were: Trevor Bauer (11.1 in), Garrett Richards (10.7 in), Alex Reyes (10.7 in) and Seth Lugo (10.4 in)...Began his career with 10 straight scoreless outings (11.2 innings pitched)...became the third pitcher in club history to begin his career with 10 consecutive scoreless relief outings, joining Mike Gallo (11 games in 2003) and Tom Martin (12 games in 1997)...Made his MLB debut on July 28 vs. LAD, tossing 2.2 innings while allowing no runs on two hits and three walks with two strikeouts...Recorded his first-career save in his second-career outing on July 31 at LAA...became the third pitcher in Astros history to record a save within his first two Major League outings, joining Rogelio Armenteros (2019) and Bert Roberge (1979)...Walked 17 batters over his first 14 games and 17.0 innings pitched...over his final six games of the season, walked just three batters...Pitched in four POSTSEASON games and was on Houston’s postseason rosters for all three rounds...was scoreless in three-of-four outings, posting a 2.25 ERA (1ER/4IP), two walks and seven strikeouts.

2019

Combined to post a 6-1 record with a 2.78 ERA (20ER/64.2IP), 33 walks and 76 strikeouts in 41 games (2 starts) between Double A Tulsa (29g) of the Dodgers organization and Double A Corpus Christi (12g) in Houston's system...was traded from the Dodgers to the Astros in exchange for IF Tyler White on July 25...struck out 20 batters in 17.0 innings during his 21 games with the Hooks...posted a 20.1 inning streak of not allowing an earned run...began his Hooks tenure with 8.2 scoreless innings. 

2018

Pitched at three levels in the Dodgers system, posting a 7-2 record with a 2.86 ERA (20ER/63IP) and 72 strikeouts in 38 games between Double A Tulsa (5g), Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga (14g) and Class A Great Lakes (19g)...was named a Midwest League Midseason All-Star while at Great Lakes...gave up just one earned run in 23.2 innings pitched at Rancho Cucamonga for a 0.38 ERA.

2017

Spent the entire season at Class A Great Lakes, posting a 6-2 record and a 1.74 ERA (10ER/51.2IP) in 31 games.

2016

Made his professional debut, putting up a 2-1 record and a 2.13 ERA (3ER/12.2IP) in 10 games with the Rookie Level Arizona League Dodgers.
